Chapter 26

She sighed heavily, her body felt heavy and tingly. She grinned, inhaling deeply then stilling.

She was suddenly aware of the other body in her bed. Jordan waited for what she expected to be dread and that feeling of what had happened last night as being a mistake to come, but it didn't. There wasn't an ounce of guilt or regret. In fact...she grinned, rolling over to look at him.

Leaning in, she brushed her lips over his lightly before kissing him deeply, moving in closer to him. She felt him start a bit, waking. She brought her hands up, cupping his face gently. She rubbed her leg against his, swinging it over his hip, rubbing against him boldly.

"Mmm...Jordan?" Howie murmured, his voice laced with sleep. Please god don't let him be dreaming, god wouldn't be that cruel. This wasn't the way he'd expected this morning to go. He'd expected to wake up to doubts and regrets and guilt over last night. This most certainly wasn't the case now. He deepened the kiss even more when he felt her rub against him. Pulling her closer, he turned so she rested on him, running his hands over her bare back.

She wouldn't think, she wouldn't. Sliding down on him, she raised her hips, coming down over him and taking him inside. She moaned softly, a small smile falling over her lips. Slowly Jordan started moving against him.  Oh god, oh god please, please let this not be a dream. Howie groaned against her lips, moving his hands down to rest on her hips. He pushed his hips up to meet hers gently, deepening the kiss even more.

She continued to move slowly against him, feeling her body starting to tense and tighten. She couldn't seem to hold back when it came to him, couldn't control herself or her emotions. He was close, she could tell and yet, she never quickened her pace, she wanted to savor to enjoy the moment that would be theirs.

Howie didn't know how much longer he could hold on, not when she was doing what she was, slowly bringing him to the edge, but it wasn't slow for him, it quick and intense. He held her hips still as he pushed up into her one last time, finding his release and was rewarded when he felt her tense and release around him.

They slumped to the bed together, her still resting on him and him sinking heavily into the mattress below him. Nothing would ever be the same again. He knew now that he couldn't look at her now without wanting over and over again. She was apart of him; she was all he'd ever wanted.

He moaned as she gently pulled away, rolling onto her back next to him, her breathing labored.

"I-uh...I mean." She stopped, not knowing what to say.

"Yeah, me too." Howie smiled sleepily. Rolling onto his side, he pulled her up against him again. "Shh, don't say anything else." He whispered.

"But-"

"No, shh. Just relax, sleep."

His voice poured over her like warm chocolate, sweet and heavy. Jordan felt her eyes starting to drift shut, the gentle rocking of his body lulling her into a deep dreamless sleep.

She awoke a few hours later to the smell of coffee and bacon. She groaned, rolling over, her eyes slowly opening followed by her sitting up straight. She was going to be late to work!  Jordan came to a decision just then, slumping down on the bed, she reached out blindly next to her, grabbing the phone, turning it on and dialing. A few minutes later she hung the phone back up, staring blankly up at the ceiling. She'd done it. Something she hadn't done in years.

She chewed at her nail; it'd felt good to make that call. She'd worry about the repercussions later, right now, she just didn't care, wouldn't care.

Turning, Jordan buried her face in her pillow, screaming excitedly. Last night had been great, fulfilling and beyond her wildest dreams. She rolled back over; finding a rose petal stuck to her palm. She picked it up, running it over her lips lightly.

Smiling, she slipped out of bed, picking up her robe from off the floor and made her way downstairs. She turned and stopped at the site of Howie at her stove cooking.  It was too comfortable.

The first pangs of fear started brewing in her stomach as she slowly made her way into the kitchen.  "Good morning." She called out softly.

He turned, smiling at her. "Good morning. I hope you're hungry, I made enough food to feed a small army."

She chuckled, sitting at the table slowly. Her body ached in a good way, a feeling she'd long forgotten. Propping her head up on her hand, she studied him. She couldn't seem to take her eyes off him; she lingered over his broad back before moving her gaze downward to his slender waist and then to his legs. She let out an unconscious sigh, her eyes fluttering shut, as thoughts of the previous evening, flooded her mind again.

"That good huh?"

Her eyes snapped open. "Huh?"

"Whatever it is you're thinking of, you look all...dreamy."

She blushed crimson. "Mmm, yeah."

Howie smiled and turned back around, picking up two plates and setting one down before her and one next to her as he slipped into the seat next to her.   "Dig in, I hope you like it."

"I'm sure I will." She looked down at the plate. "Wow! There's a ton of food here!"

"I know, tryin' to fatten ya up a bit." Howie chuckled.

"Ha! I knew it!" She grinned, taking a bite and moaning in pleasure.

"Good?"

"Mmm, amazing." She mumbled, her mouth full.

They ate in silence; Jordan's head was spinning with thoughts of everything that'd happened. Finishing up, she pushed her plate away, wiping at her mouth with her napkin.  "God I'm stuffed!"

"That's what I love to hear." Howie smiled.

"Sure." She grabbed her plate, heading over to the sink, starting to wash the dishes.

"I can take care of that."

"Nope, you cooked, I'll do the dishes." She replied, washing her plate and the pans. When he was done, she washed his plate out too.   After the kitchen was clean, they headed back into the living room.

"Well, I think I'm gonna head back to the hotel, lord knows you probably have things you have to do anyway." Howie smiled.

Jordan blushed. "I- I mean..." she shrugged.

Howie walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist, looking into her eyes. "Don't wanna overstep my bounds. Wanna give ya some space and all. Can I call you?"

She smiled, "I'd like that."

Howie leaned in, kissing her gently. "Then I will. Take care Jordan, thank you for a wonderful night. Talk to you soon." He whispered, leaning in to kiss her one last time before turning and slipping out the door.

Jordan walked to her window, watching him leave, a broad smile on her face. Turning, she tore up the stairs to her room, jumping on her bed. She giggled uncontrollably. It was insane a grown woman like her squealing like a little girl, but she couldn't help it, she was happier than she'd been in a long time.

Dropping to the bed, she grabbed the phone, picking it up and dialing quickly.

"Hello?"

"It happened, oh god it happened and I enjoyed it." Jordan blurted out.

"No! Get the hell outta here! Well, it was just a matter of time. So, how was he?"

"Michelle! I'm not gonna answer that!" Jordan blushed.

"Fair enough I guess, so how was he this morning? Is he still there?"

"No, he just left, said he figures I needed time to think and all, he was right.  He made me breakfast. He was amazing, so sweet and..." She trailed off, a soft sigh escaping her lips. "Perfect, everything was perfect last night, and then this morning..."

"This morning? You mean breakfast was THAT good?"

"Huh? Oh, oh yeah, that good."

Michelle was silent for a moment.   "Again this morning?!" She asked incredulously.

"Oh, well...umm..."

"Who started it?" Michelle asked suddenly.

"Well, I uh..."

"YOU?! Jordan! You go girl! Didn't know you had it in you!"

"Michelle!!"

"Hell yeah, one taste wasn't enough huh?" Michelle laughed evilly.

"ANYWAY, so yeah, I just wanted to call and let you know."

"Mmm hmm, I should let you go, you probably need your rest anyway." Michelle snickered.

"Will you cut that out?! Lord!"

"Right, call me after you've gotten your strength back. You're not going into work right?"

"No I'm not, didn't think that'd be such a good idea, I don't have the energy to..."

"AH! You don't have the energy? He musta been really good!"

"Do you have to be so crass?" Jordan asked calmly.

"You know it's true, you're just too scared to admit it. No need to, I know."

Jordan sighed, unable to stop the smile that had spread over her lips. To say he was good would be an understatement. "I'll let you go, talk to ya later Michelle."

"Byeeee Jordan." Michelle called before breaking out into giggles.

"Bye Michelle." Jordan rolled her eyes, turning the phone off and setting it next to her. She couldn't stop smiling, she couldn't remember being this happy.

Standing, she started up the stairs and into her room, lying on the bed. Slipping her hands under the pillow, she felt something soft and brought her hand out, she found a yet another rose petal. Smiling, she ran the petal over her lips again lightly, lying back on the pillows slowly drifting off.

"So it finally happened?! No shit man, I knew you were persistent, you always get your woman." AJ laughed.

"I didn't "get her" as you put it. This was special; she's the one man. She makes me feel all these things, I just, I just want to be with her all the time. It took all my energy to leave this morning. You don't know how badly I wanted to haul her back upstairs, seeing her in her robe and all."

"No no, I do understand, I really do. So why'd you leave? You shoulda followed those feelings man."

"I don't wanna freak her out, I wanna give her time to think about all that's happen and think about what she wants to have happen."

"Did she freak out on ya this morning or something?" AJ asked.

"No, actually she didn't. I was expecting it, but nothing like that happened, in fact, quite the opposite."

"The opposite?"

"I won't cheapen it by talking about it." Howie answered vaguely.

"Again this morning?! No shit!" AJ laughed.

Howie sighed; it was pointless being vague with AJ.

"So, you went for seconds."

"It was not seconds! And it wasn't me that went for it."

"Daymn man! What'd you do last night? If she's so straight-laced like you said she is, it must've taken a lot for her to initiate. Either that or you're just really good."

"I can't believe you're saying this to me." Howie groaned.

"What?!" AJ asked innocently.

"Nothing, nevermind J. But yeah, I never woulda pictured her starting anything. I thought she was gonna stop, but she never did, thank god."  AJ chuckled.

"So I'm gonna let you go, I'll talk to ya later."

"Yeah, let me know how everything goes. You'll be home in a few days anyway though right?"

"Yeah, three days. I need to tell Jordan, I've been dreading it."

"You better get your ass in gear man."

"I know. Well, see ya later."

"Aight, bye D."

"Bye." Howie hung up and lay back on the bed, staring up at the ceiling. He wanted to call her badly, but he knew he couldn't. He'd wait a day or two. Closing his eyes, he slept, dreaming of the moment he'd feel her in his arms again.
