A Memorable Footplating experience

 

Hi all !, let me welcome u again to another site of mine, which is about a footplating experience i would never forget. So join me in reliving this wonderful journey, get ready for this exciting trip on a WAP4

 

Driver with the Bandana

The WAP4 driver gives the caution order in his hand, a serious look to check when the next caution section is to be crossed. Note the speedometer reading showing us around 90kmph. Also note the walkie talkie in his hand. The walkie-talkie is placed on the holder between the two wind screens. Have a look at the outside of the window and u'll realise that we were speeding !!

Bye bye to the AP Crew

A parting shot of the WAP4 with its crew at KZJ junction. I thanked the crew profusely for their hospitality, biscuits, fruits et al ;-).

This is a picture of the WAG5A of the BZA shed that was supposed  to have hauled the Konark express later that morning. Infact we crossed the Konark express about 25 min from KZJ towards Sec'bad on the return journey

WAG5 at KZJ - II

A more clearer picture of the WAG5A. This travels with the Konark Exp all the way till Vishakapatnam, pretty long day run. Some construction work going on in the platform where the loco was stabled. The loco was not manned when i clicked it. The loco is energised and ready.

This is the driver's view of the platform at KZJ. This was on my return and i clicked this as soon as i boarded the loco. Note the loco details painted on the inner surface of the loco wind screen. This was what the driver complained later on, saying that it affected the visibility during the nights.

Passing Pindial

We pass Pindial at around 110kmph. This was 15-20 min after KZJ and before we entered a long stretch of caution. Quite some clarity even at a high speed. Note the platforms on either side, there is'nt much passenger traffic at that hour on this stretch and they are all bound to be deserted.
