| You walk along the darkening street, gazing absently at the closing stores and restraurants. you look at the cars, filled with people rushing one place or another. You aren't rushed at all, your feet plod down the sidewalk with the slowness of one who has absolutely nowhere to go. Y ou look up at the sunset which for all its beauty and grander, you can only just make out behind a curtain of city smog and pollution. Night is fast approaching and you know you ought to start home. So you kick at a pile of bottles and Burger King cups that had blown against a dead tree, and start towards the cross walk. Then you see it. If one can call it an "IT" It resembled a wolf, with the head of a lion, the teeth of a shark, and the claws of a bear. The creature was covered in dark blue spines, and a mane of black fur, tipped with pure silver. All in all it was no larger than a husky, but upon seeing it you where filled with a profound fear. A fear so deep, that it could only come from seeing somthing out of this world, somthing that had no pourpose but to kill, and knowing that, at that moment, It's pourpose was to kill you... You Run, without regard to direction, and with only one thought in mind, Help. The creature bounds after you with terrific speed and you begin to run out of breath but still you go on. You turn into an alleyway and think you see a light up ahead, The sun had by now abandoned the sky but the strange object was reflecting some kind of light. You race ahead toward the light, All the while fleeing the terribal thing that pursues you, You can see the object clearly now, it is just a few yards away, You jump, narrowly escaping your pursuer's jaws. You reach out to the object... |
