In Caracas ....
The first leg of our trip was spending time with Lino and his family in Caracas. He's one of 8 brothers, so there were a lot of Garcias around. I don't think I ever ate so many different kinds of soup in my life ....
While in Caracas, we visited two childrens Hospitals. This was run by the Catholic Church (Hence the gorgeous stained glass in the background) and the second was the Hospital de Ninos where we were able to go into the Neonatal intensive care unit and pray for the children there. It will be a while before I'll be able to forget seeing an ICU in such run down conditions.
All of the streets were very narrow, and the traffic was crazy. Note the houses in the background.
These are the places that we didn't get to go into due to the safety factor. Most of Linos family lives very comfortably, so we were out of the way most of the time.
This is coming off of the plane from Caracas to Margarita. My motion sickness was controlled over all, but I went through some rough patches.
