On the Island of Margarita ...
This is the group on the ride from the airport in Margarita to Jasons Grandmothers. Next to Jo in the middle is Nacho, Jasons 2nd cousin, and next to Lino in the back is Milton, Jasons Dad. Nacho has actually been a tour guide on the island for 13 years, and he took us around while we were there.
We only ever knew  this guy by the  "Coconut Man". All he does all day is carry around a machete and cut open coconuts to make a drink called cocata. It's coconut meat, milk, and sugar blended together. There were all sorts of cool little places like this.
The first thing we encountered at Jasons abuelitas was a huge bowl of shredded fish ... everything in the kitchen had to be covered up not only because of the flies, but because their was a lot of salt in the air that blanketed everything, including the electronics.
We slept upstairs in hammocks. The room was pretty small, but it had a great veiw. Not only was the beach out this window, but the mountains can be seen from the widow on the other side.
This is one of our times of debreifing. Our days were so busy, it was good to have some time to chill and talk about what was going on.The upstairs room wasn't much wider than you see here. (I'm leaning against the stairs)
