Inspector Gavin Mowat
Borne in 1282, Son of Thomas Mowat and Anna Mowat. He was  apprenticed to be a blacksmith at the age 15. He learned his craft and learned it well. In 1299, He heard the call from a minor Lord by the name of William Wallace. Heeding said call, he joined the Scottish militia and left his apprenticeship to fight in the army.

At the battle of sterling bridge, he saw his first taste of battle and suited
him well. He was in the army until 1302,  where he fought at the last battle of Fall Kirk Where the tide of battle was predestined by the betrayal of the Scottish Lords. Gavin never knew such pain, as he felt that day when he
realized when he was fighting for a corrupt society. He decided that day that no matter what he would not fight for any Lord or country, He would fight for himself.

When Robert the Bruce was crowned king of Scotland, and he decided that Scotland was to secede from England Gavin picked up the banner once again, and took to the battle field. Little did Gavin know that there was another force on the field, a Brujah by the name of Jonathan McLane. McLane watched the battle with great interest, looking for his next child to create.

When Gavin was run through by an English lance, the choice was made.  McLane introduced Gavin to intricacies of the society of the night. Over the next 100 years, Gavin was trained to take over McLane's job as a watcher. In 1398, Gavin decided to strike out on his own, and traveled south to London. He integrated himself into the English society as the advisor to a Scottish Lord whom arrived in London that week. He kept the charade going over the next 200 years, when he traveled to Germany.

While in Germany, he met others of his kind, that he did not quite understand. He was told that his clan name was tainted by a betrayal from 2000 years ago. He decided that moment that no matter what he would make his clan proud. Over the next century  he traveled through Europe, Asia, and Africa, gathering information on the various clans of his world. After hissearch was over, he decided to return to the British Isles, where he found out his sire has been destroyed some 50 years before hand. Gavin attended the Prince to lobby for McLane's position, where through some miracle he obtained his goal.

The Toreador Prince gave him the position of provincial scourge, to which his duties were to investigate new creations and make sure they were taught the ways properly. Over the years he destroyed many a kindred and saved many a soul. In 1843, He decided to take a vacation, traveling back to Africa, arriving in Morocco in December of 1844. He did odd jobs for the Brujah usticar as one of his archons. Gavin watched the inner struggle between the Assimites and Setites and pulled strings like a master puppeteer. In 1863, he arrived in Cairo and made a haven in the Mercantile district so that he could keep an eye on the underbelly of society. In 1868, news of a newly created Ventrue by the name of Lord Montague McCody was assigned to him and it was brought to his attention that McCody's sire never obtained permission.

Gavin caught up with Lord Montague when he was boarding a ship back to England. Gavin inserted himself on the ship as one of the crew members to gain passage back to England. When the ship arrived in port, Gavin slipped into the night, and gained information that would help him assimilate himself into Lord McCody's life.

Through one of his contacts, he found out that Lord McCody was no longer staying at the manor Hartman House and had moved back to Cotswold Valley. He caught up with a known associate of the McCody family and has been following her ever since.
