Bob Moore
When I put Bob Moore here, I do so in honor of him as a teacher of my teacher. Except in dreams and in the visions of meditation I have never met Bob, who is in retirement in Denmark, although I believe I have a strong sense of this beautiful soul, having spoken to many of his students, read an out-of-print book Conversations with Bob Moore, and having received his teaching through the second generation. Bob never advertized and yet the impact of his teachings which preceded the "New Age" revolution have been remarkable. I am truly honored to share in his grounded and reality-based legacy of spiritual evolution.
When I first met my teacher Bart ten Berge at an introductory workshop in spiritual healing, I beheld a man who is utterly normal. Without pretense and from a powerful foundation of total acceptance of all perspectives, Bart was to lead me on a journey of healing that is an antidote to out-of-the-body spiritual flightiness. With each workshop I would anticipate the energetic rush with a kind of escapist fervour and each time I would be painfully dissapointed, because in this work there is no escape from the realities that move within us. We work through them, instead of working our way "out of them". As such, results when grounded in our own core realities and physical existence are very powerful and enduring indeed. You will read more about Bart as you tour the Veratherapy site.
However, insistent on tapping into the source of his wisdom I was to connect with many other students of Bob Moore. All share the same deep love and honor for the man. All talk of the imposibility of describing his impact as he is in himself a model of acceptance, openness, intuitive sensitivity and humility. I recognized this talk, because during the workshops with Bart, the content is made alive in the context of the living model of compassion and unique humility that is consistently manifested by the teacher. The two are quite inseparable. Perhaps that is why this teaching was for generations only passed down by word of mouth, from teachers to students and not in written form. Perhaps that is also why the pioneers of this powerful route into inner growth are oversubscribed without ever having to publish a single ad.
As a young man, Bart and his wife Patricia were dissatisfied with existing therapeutic tools. Working with holocaust suvivors as a psychologist in Holland, they felt there must be a way to help these people at a more causal level. They had heard about the work of Bob Moore at the Psychic Center in Denmark and were eager to check it out. One morning Bart would call, one morning Patricia: but Bob was hard to get hold of. One morning, with a heavy hangover, Bart was called to the phone by his wife. She had Bob on the line. Groggily, Bart picked up the receiver. As he began speaking to Bob, he felt a hand swirling over the top of his head and the hangover completely lifted. "My God," he thought, "if he can do that, I really want to know more about his work..."

Jack Elias
At the time is was a deep depression where I was plagued by anxiety and the ego structure that had helped me survive through 30 years of life had been razed to the ground. All I had left was my intuition, and on sabbatical in Cambridge, I wandered according to the directions of a still small voice. I found myself in a second-hand book-shop. I had heard of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and was vaguely thinking about learning about it to help Ehud Barak win the upcoming election in Israel. Such was the state of delusion. I was looking through business book and spotted a worn manual entitled "Finding True Magic". Its content looked funky, integrating Eastern mysticism and Western hypnosis. It was cheap so I bought it.
When I began to read this powerful manual, I was intrigued. In it were tools I had known intuitively since birth but never had the confidence to really apply. When I returned to Israel I contacted Jack Elias who has an Institute for Therapeutic Learning in Seattle, about studying with him
I am very pleased I did. Jack has taken hypnotherapy - which is so often plagued by control-centered quick-fixers who grew out of the traditions of stage hypnosis - and given it a spiritual dimension. His emphasis is consistently on restoring control and authority to the client. Playful and articulate, his approach adds an essential dimension to the work of hypnotherapy - the human spirit - based on the foundation of an assumption of human innocence, purity and goodness. It sounds obvious, but when incorporated into the tools of hypnosis it becomes a powerful and enduring tool.
Instead of creating trances, Jack teaches you how to break them. Problems, he shows, are a result of conflicting trance states and arise when people lose a sense of their inner purity and goodness. Tapping into the life-force disolves ego-constructed problematic trances, as it is possible to take the client into a space where they can learn to dance with their internal modalities.
With great courage and depth, Jack pioneered this field. He is an excellent, sensitive and responsible teacher and my work is deeply indebted to the field he evolved through his practise and experience as a meditator and healer.
