Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE)

Supervised Agricultural Experience or SAE is that portion of agricultural education that is conducted outside of the classroom. SAE is the hands on portion of the curriculum whereby a student has the opportunity to conduct some type of program or project where they may gain experience in the field of agriculture.  This experience is valuable as it helps them to get to experience the real world through their selected program. The main requirement for what a student may have as an SAE is that the SAE be related to agriculture in some way and it is preferable that it relate to a potential career or interest that the student may have. All students are required to have an SAE and to keep a recordbook on their program. SAE comprises 20% of the total grade for the course.
