Leprechaun’s Secret Twilight falls upon the forest Green Man sings his nature song Clovers dance amidst the shadows Flowers awaken to sing along (Just beyond in a clearing a leprechaun sits perched upon his legendary pot of gold) “Please tell us, sir,” sang the flowers “What is the secret to the abundance you hold? Might we be too, as lucky as you Or must we be fashioned from an Irish mold?” (the leprechaun smiles wryly and says) “If it is only gold you seek there is no good fortune to be found. If you truly Believe, and act accordingly, there is magic all around” (the flowers, puzzled, looked away…whatever could he mean?) The wee sprite danced merrily at dawn Four leaf clovers at his feet Greeting the day with Faith, Gratitude and a Smile. In his Heart was a Joy and Warmth Equal to the Golden Sun’s rays… “Aye”, says he “ the secret to Good Fortune is not desiring to possess but aspiring to Be attuned to the Universe, doing your part, each action rooted in the Heart… ‘tis here that real riches abound” Sarah Gallant © 2003 written for Sisters Of Kerridwyn Realm Of Rhyme March, 2003 Back To Hearth |
