YiPing saw that KeYun was feeling better and she was quite normal again, so she decided to take KeYun out to get some fresh air. While they were out, KeYun saw a bird and mistaken it for ZhenHua's hawk which she took care of when they were living in the Northeastern Province. KeYun started chasing after the bird and climbed up to the top of a high tower. She was in danger of falling off. YiPing called ShuHuan to the rescue. DuFei and ShuHuan arrived and saved KeYun from falling.
Back at KeYun's home, YiPing asked ZhenDe if KeYun's illness has anything to do with the Lu family and why he left her father. ZhenDe told YiPing that they left because XueQin accused KeYun of stealing. But YiPing felt that this is not the real reason and ZhenDe was trying to hide the truth.
YiPing then went to the horse track to look for ZhenHua, hoping to find out more about the reason ZhenDe left. ZhenHua was more than happy to see YiPing and hear her called him "Father" again. He admitted he was getting old and asked her to go see him from time to time. YiPing told ZhenHua that she would quit her job in the Grand Shanghai Nightclub in two months. ZhenHua was pleased and told her that among all his children, YiPing's character resembles his the most. She is like the mirror image of him when he was young and she is like a "little leopard". YiPing asked ZhenHua his opinion of himself. ZhenHua admitted that he could not possibly be a good person.
Episode 12
DuFei injured himself from breaking all the vases when making an interview in a vase exhibition. ShuHuan nicknamed him the "Prince of Disaster". RuPing was also there to take care of DuFei's wounds. Seeing all the dirty clothes in the apartment, RuPing offered to wash them. ShuHuan would not let her and finally they decided to go to the balcony and wash them together. When RuPing saw the shirt that ShuHuan wore on the day they went to picnic, she started crying. ShuHuan felt sorry for her and tried to comfort her. RuPing could not control her emotions and started crying on ShuHuan's shoulder. Meanwhile, YiPing came to visit ShuHuan and DuFei showed her to the balcony. They were shocked to see ShuHuan and RuPing hugging each other. DuFei hit ShuHuan and YiPing left in anger too.
ShuHuan chased YiPing to the street and asked her to listen to his explanations and forgive him. He said that he just felt sorry to see RuPing cry but did not mean to hug her. YiPing then asked him if he had never met her, would he have fallen in love with RuPing. ShuHuan thought for a little while and said he might have, but this was an impossible possibility because he "had" met YiPing already. YiPing still would not listen to him and said that they should stop seeing each other. ShuHuan was shocked and said YiPing was unreasonable and cruel to him. YiPing got more upset and told him to go to RuPing, who is gentle and kind. Disappointedly, ShuHuan left. When he got home, DuFei advised ShuHuan to stay true to only ONE girl and should not care even this would make another girl sad.
ShuHuan went to the Grand Shanghai Nightclub that night and was sad to see YiPing singing with tears running down her checks. After singing, she went to greet customers and drank with them. ShuHuan went mad with anger and started a fight with those customers. He and YiPing got into another argument that night.
The next morning, YiPing found ShuHuan standing by her door, in the rain. He said he could not stay away from her and apologized again. But YiPing still did not say anything. Disappointedly, he turned to leave. Seeing him walked away, YiPing was finally touched. She chased after him and hugged him from behind. They made up and kissed in the rain.
That night, ShuHuan, DuFei, RuPing, ErHao and FangYu all went to the Grand Shanghai Nightclub. YiPing sang a song she wrote for ShuHuan called "Seeing You in the Rain". The young people had a very happy evening together.
Episode 13
The next day, YiPing went to see ZhenHua and got into an argument with MengPing. ZhenHua scolded MengPing for that. Meanwhile XueQin went to meet her secret lover, WeiGuangXiong. ErJie is actually her child with him.
KeYun, accompanied by ShuHuan and YiPing, went to see the doctor. It was another unsuccessful visit and YiPing became more suspicious of her father being responsible for KeYun's dead baby. YiPing and ShuHuan then went to the "other side" to ask her father if he had ever raped anyone. ZhenHua was shocked and furious at this question.
Episode 14
ShuHuan tried to persuade YiPing to stop finding out what had happened to KeYun. But YiPing refused to give up since it is the key factor to cure KeYun's illness.
DuFei gave RuPing a symbol of his rib bone. He get this idea from the story of how God created Eve from Adam's ribs. But RuPing refused to accept it. The bone was then snatched away by a dog and DuFei got hurt again when he tried to get it back.
ShuHuan and YiPing brought KeYun to a parade, trying to make her happy. They were having a good time till all of a sudden, KeYun got frightened by the police who were on horses. She kept shouting out ZhenHua's name for help.
Back to KeYun's house, YiPing asked ZhenDe if her father was responsible for KeYun's dead baby. ZhenDe was surprised and yelled no. He told YiPing not to suspect her father since he is a respectable person. YiPing kept on pushing ZhenDe and his wife to tell the truth. Finally, they revealed ErHao is the one who was responsible. Both ShuHuan and YiPing were shocked. ShuHuan told YiPing to keep the secret since if it was known, more people would be harmed. YiPing agreed.
YiPing warned FangYu that ErHao is not a good man and she should stop seeing him. When FangYu refused, YiPing asked FangYu to promise not to let ErHao touch her unless they were married. FangYu was surprised and confused.
Episode 15
FangYu and ErHao invited ShuHuan and YiPing over for lunch. YiPing was unhappy to be there and kept staring at ErHao. ErHao finally said he could not stand YiPing anymore. He said YiPing was crazy and intentionally trying to break up FangYu and him. The angry YiPing then asked him if he wanted to see a real insane person. ShuHuan stopped her right then and dragged her away.
When they arrived home, YiPing was surprised to find ZhenHua there. She blamed ZhenHua for his lack of caring for her and her mother in the past five years and he is not welcomed in their house now. YiPing then started crying in ZhenHua's arms. ZhenHua said he was wrong and asked YiPing to go horseback riding with him. YiPing also apologized for accusing him of raping. YiPing finally made up with her father after all these years. She went on to ask her father about ZhenDe only to find out that he did not know what had happened to ZhenDe even though he still cared about his whole family.
FangYu was bothered by what YiPing had said in her house the other day and asked ErHao what was going on. ErHao said he did not know and went to ask YiPing. He shouted at YiPing and ShuHuan got into a fight with him. YiPing could not hold back any more and brought ErHao to KeYun's house. ErHao was shocked to see KeYun, his childhood lover again and more shocked to see that she had gone crazy.
