First the facts!
*Meteor Garden was based on a Japanese manga entitled Hana Yori Dango. Later it was adopted as a Chinese soap opera starring Barbie Hsu as San Cai, Jerry Yan as Dao Ming Si, Vic Zhou as Hua Ze Lei + other members of F4 such as Vanness and Ken.
Then the plot thickens...
As resident bullies headed by Dao Ming Si (Jerry Yan) begin to pick on a new student YingDe University in Taipei (Taiwan), a young girl named San Cai (Barbie Hsu). Its a battle of wits between the sexes as San Cai stays firm in her choice to fight the bullying F4 (the name of their group). The plot twists as the once bully Dao Ming Si, a rich and imperious young man slowly begins to fall in love with the determined San Cai. The twist? Dao Ming Si's best buddy Lei (Vic Zhou) also starts to fall for San Cai despite his love for his first flame, the model Jing! Poor San Cai, she likes Lei's sweet and warm nature, but the she is also enticed by the smitten Ah'Si (Dao Ming Si's nickname)bad boy image.
And why an obssession, m*a?
Of course, the cute hunky looks of both leads Jerry Yan and Vic Zhou! I even scoured the vast internet just to find the perfectly cute pictures of Vic and Jerry to put on this page. Actually, this telenovela is the craze in my home country, and after seeing a mandarin dubbed version in KSCI 18, (asian channel) here in the U.S. I was so shocked by how FOB these guys are (Fine Oriental Boys) they are just so cute and hot... Especially the sweet and warm Lei!!! No wonder girls in the Phils. are starting to revive the layered cut! They find Vic and Jerry's hair so adorable!

The F4 also sings their own songs as part of the series' soundtrack.
How about San Cai?
San Cai is definitely the perfect girl-next-door specimen that allures both Ah'Si and Lei's eyes to her... Simple but strong beauty is how one can charaterize San Cai's look, which is reminiscent of Miaka in FY... |
