The purpose of the class is to provide high quality business consulting to small business clients who request assistance, while affording advanced Business students experiential learning through the field case consulting model.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with faculty and a member of the local business community. The project you do in this course should be noted on your résumé. If you satisfactorily complete this course, you can expect letters of recommendation from the faculty member(s) with whom you worked. Your satisfied client may also give you a letter of recommendation, and some students even receive job offers.

The most basic objectives of the course are to provide you with a broad introduction to marketing concepts, the role of marketing in society and in the firm, and the various factors that influence marketing decision making. We will explore concepts, theories and issues regarding customers, competition, the environment and the traditional marketing mix (Product, Distribution, Price, and Promotion).
At the completion of this course, one should not only be familiar with the terminology of the field, but also the selection of which tools and concepts in which to use, how to formulate alternative courses of action for overcoming the market challenges.
