Psalm 2 declares that God has installed Jesus as King in the Church. Jesus is the Head of the Church, His body (Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18)
Psalm2 also delcares that God has given to Jesus the rulership over all the nations of the earth.
However, Jesus in turn has delegated all authority to His Chruch to rule this earth, including rulership over all the nations (Matthew 16:19; 18:18). It is thus the destiny and responsibility of the Church to rule over the affairs of all nations, in Jesus' name.
A spiritual war over nations is thus being fought over the destiny of all nations between God's army and the forces of darkness.
Every believer is a solier in the army of God, whether he realises it or not. Every soldier is expected to stand united in teh army of God, and to fight spiritually and to rule over the nations. Every soldier must do hsi part.
To win the battle for the nations, every believer needs to know the following truths from Psalm2.
God has installed Jesus as King over the earth.
Jesus has delegated rulership over the earth to the Church.
The nations of the earth are influenced by demonic powers who oppose the rule of Jesus.
In Jesus' name, the Church is to pray to God for power to extend Christ's rule over the nations of the earth in the spirit realm.
In Jesus' name, the Church is to overthrow the demonic forces over every nation and rule instead in the spirit realm.
Psalm 2 reads as follows:
1 Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together against the Lord
and against His Anointed One.
3 "Let us break their chains," they say,
"and throw off their fetters."
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
5 Then He rebukes them in His anger
and terrifies them in His wrath, saying
6 "I have installed my King
7 I will proclaim the decree of the LORD:
He said to me, "You are my Son;
today I have become your Father.
8 Ask of me,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
9 You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry
and you be destroyed in your way,
for His wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in Him
(Psalm 2:1-12)
1. God has installed Jesus as King over the earth
After Jesus Christ died on the cross, was buried, and rose fom the dead, God installed Him as King over the earth (Psalm 2:6; Philippians 2:8-11; Ephesians 1:22). He was installed as King on Zion, the Church of God (Hebrews 12:22-24).
6 "I have installed my King
(Psalm 1:6)
And being found in appearance as a man,
He (Jesus) humbled Himself
and became obedient to death -- even death on a cross.
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place
and gave Him the name that is above every other name.
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father
(Philippians 2:8-11)
And God placed ALL THINGS under His feet and appointed Him to be HEAD OVER EVERYTHING for the Church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in everyway.
(Ephesians 1:22)
Every knee on earth and in heaven and under the earth shall bow at the name of Jesus. Every tongue shall confess that He is Lord. All things on this earth have been placed under his feet. He is Head over everything, includeing all the nations of the earth.

2. Jesus has delegated rulership over the earth to the Church.
God made Jesus ruler over everything FOR the Chruch, His body (Ephesians 1:22). God wants us to share in the rulership over everything with jesus as our Head. In christ, we have been chosen by God to rule this earth with His Son Jesus. All things placed under the feet of Jesus are also under us, for we are His feet.
And God placed ALL THINGS under His feet and appointed Him to be Head over everything FOR THE CHURCH, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills everything in every way.
(Ephesians 1:22)
When Jesus was on this earth, He delegated the rulership over this earth to His followers. They were given authority to rule this earth in his name (Matthew 16:19; 18:18).
"Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
(Matthew 16:19; 18:18)
As prophesied of Jesus in Psalm 2, God wants our Lord Jesus to rule over the nations with an iron scepter (Psalm 2:9). The scepter is a symbol of kingship. And because Jesus rules, we His Church rules this earth with Him.
9 You will RULE THEM with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
(Psalm 2:9)

3. The nations of the earth are influenced by demonic powers who oppose the rule of Jesus.
Scripture reveals that behind every ungodly nation, the devil has placed demonic angels to influence the nation of evil (Daniel 10:1-21).
When the prophet Daniel was praying to God in Persia, God sent an engel in response to his prayers. However, this angel of God was opposed by a demonic angel ruling over Persia. God had to send another angel, angel Michael, to help the first angel in overcoming this demonic angel ruling over Persia (Daniel 10:12-13). The battle for the nations still rages on in the heavenlies today.
The angel sent by God said to Daniel as follows:
"Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the PRINCE of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there withe KING of Persia."
(Daniel 10:12-13)
In Psalm 2, we read that these demonic angesl ruling over nations will instigate the peoples and their rulers to oppose the rule of Jesus, God's Anointed One. They instigate the people to rebel against God's rule of righteousness (Psalm 2:1-3). They instigate the leaders and peoples to live by ungodly standards, promoting idolatry, witchcraft, sexual license, greed, abortion, genocide, war, etc. They falsely accuse God and Jesus Christ of imposing standards that bind the "freedom" of the people.
1 Why do the nations rage
and the people plot in vain?
2 They kings of the earth take their stand
and the rulers gather together against the Lord
and against His Anointed One.
3 "Let us bread their chains," they say,
"and throw off their fetters."
(Psalm 2:1-6)
However, God knows of eveil schemes of such men. He laughs at them and scoffs at them (Psalm 2:4). He also warns them to serve the Lord God instead with fear and trembling. Otherwise, God's anger is aroused by the rebellion of these rulers. His judgement will then come and destry them (Psalm 2:10-12).

4. In Jesus' name, the Church is to pray to God for power to establish Christ's rule over the nations of the earth in the spirit realm.
The Church has been given rulership over the nations. However, to establish this rule, we must PRAY.
We must ask God in prayer for His plans to establish His rule in every nation. We must seek God's specific plans for touching the nations. We must ask God for power and wisdom to bring this rule to pass. And like Daniel, we must pray till God's plans for all nations come to pass.
As we do so, God promises to make all the nations our inheritanc. The whole earth will then become our possession (Psalm 2:8).
8 ASK OF ME,
and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.
(Psalm 2:8)

5. In Jesus' name, the Church is to overthrow the demonic forces over every nation and rule instead in the spirit realm.
The rule of Jesus Christ over the nations through His Church can only be established as we tear down the demonic forces ruling over them and rule over these nations in the spirit.
God's rule over a nation must first be established in the spirit realm before it can be manifested in the physical realm. It is a spiritual war against demonic forces, and not a war against human beings.
Using the authority Christ has delegated to us, God wants the Church to tear down the strongholds and forces of the devil over the nations. We are to "dash them to pieces like pottery" (Psalm 2:9).
9 You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery."
(Psalm 2:9)
Using our authority, we are to rule over the nations with an "iron scepter", that is, with kingly authority (Psalm 2:9). We are to tear down wickedness and establish righteousness in the spirit realm. We are to proclaim, to decree and to command, as a king does when he rules. And as we do so, the kingdom of this world will become the kingdom of our God and of our Lord Jesus Christ (Revelation 11:15).
The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord
and He will reign forever and ever."
(Revelation 11:15)

Your Thought:
1. To whom has God given all the nations of the earth as an inheritance?
2. How can we, the body of Christ, establish Christ's rule over the nations?
3. What is God's attitude towards rebellions nations?
