Looking more like a horse box than a public service vehicle, this startling "Crellin-Duplex" creation by licensee Mann Egerton on a Foden PVFE6 chassis was for Ripponden and District. They had two, and another on an AEC chassis. Although it doesn't appear so, visibility for the occupants was supposedly not too bad! Little wonder it didn't catch on though Photo from the White Rose Archive.

Yet another coach, this one from Plaxton for the S. C.W.S. in 1948. Picture by Ray Evans of an official Foden/Plaxton view..
This vehicle was recently seen in a Scottish scrap yard. Although that is sad, it says something about just how well they were built if it is still around now! May also have been bought for preservation.
This Foden had a Welsh Metal Industires body (Looking a little "Bruce" style) and ran with Smiths. Picture from Ray Evans of an official Foden publicity shot..
A rear engined PVRG6, bodywork by Lawton of Stoke-On-Trent. Foden had been making rear engined vehicles years before Leyland brought out the Atlantean. Photo by P.Yeomans.
