THE BASIC PLAN

We will begin the course by writing a 'Sample Paper."

Each week, we will read articles or stories of your choice in order to develop vocabulary and improve spelling.

Each week, we will practice sentence skills by doing exercises from the text or handouts. See the class activities schedule for weekly topics.

You will write a draft per week and end up with three polished papers for evaluation at the end of the term.

You will keep these papers in a portfolio and revise them frequently. I will review them with you periodically.

You will keep a Learning Log for informal writings such as letters, free writes, and reflections. From these writings you will develop topics for your more structured writing.

See the course syllabus for assessment tasks and other information.
