KARST SPRINGS OF SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA
Odessa Spring, looking out from the cave entrance.  Located on the Upper Iowa River, this is one of the largest springs in Minnesota, with a discharge of 20,000 to 90,000 gallons per minute.  Water entering the ground at York Blind Valley, ten miles away, resurges here, as shown by groundwater dye-traces.
Ruins of a stone springhouse at Big Spring, northwest of Harmony, MN.  The owners state that the springwater is muddied when there is blasting at the nearby quarry.
The Mahood Valley, located west of Wykoff, MN, is most noted for its falling springs.
