| Sometime in early July 2003, there was only Visayas 1 and 2 in yahoo. There were so many chatters and both rooms were almost full. Knowing that room population is limited to only a certain number, I anticipated an over population that made me thought of making a new visayas room. After several attempts of opening one (or by the grace of the almight yahoo) a new room popped up among the visayas room chatroom list . It was vast and silent no other soul was there to greet or boot me. The silence was discouraging. Moments later, two chatters logged in but then left...followed by another two , then four ,but just like the others, they left without even saying a single word. I thought the room was just like a short bus stop along the cyber highway. So I thought of something funny like selling some cyber goodies for the travellers. It wasn't fun to stay put in a ghost town like visayas 3. Two days later, several chatters came in and I welcomed them and by good grace they responded and my business seemed to be having few customers. From then on Mike (a.k.a. soul_kalag), Beth (a.k.a. mbc) and Jane (a.k.a. janebee) came over regularly and we began welcoming and entertaining all those who logged in. The four of us agreed to keep the room and to give it life . So on July 10, 2003, we formally organized ourselves . Since that time on, Visayas 3 was slowly being transformed from a ghost town to a kind of metropolis. It was a great labor of love for the four of us, having dinnereless evenings and sleepless nights not to miss anyone coming into the room.Through the years , and with your unending support Visayas is ore alive than before. As it was difficult to give life to this room, let's nurture it with our participation, cooperation and oneness of direction towards responsible chatting and enriching camaraderie. SERVICE WE CAN GIVE TO EACH OTHER As our group is more than just a chat group, we need to support each other. . We can share programs , internet knowledge and other stuffs. No one is immuned from personal distress and problems, We can be each other's brother/sister keeper. FACILITIES & UTILITIES Yahoo has afforded us free use of their facilities. Our group's mailing service should be utilized to communicate with each other. We can share songs, programs, internet utilities and documents using this free service. We have a mini homepage that we can call our cyberhome, a place where all of us stay close to each other inspite of our distance. We also have a message board that can serve as a kind of forum on issues that anyone might like to discuss and get some insights from other members LOOKING AHEAD O A weekly non-denominational online spiritual program Its is hoped that in the near future, with your prayers, we can come up with an organizational set up to improve and make our facilites and utilities more serviceable. |
