I saw you today
walking along the sand,
sun splashing along your face
and I paused
to rejoice that it were truly so,
that you truly felt the same
deep inside.
For I awake when you awake,
gentle thoughts of you see me through,
sharing the joys and the sorrows
until night finds us together again.
Speaking to you with no words
always leaves me feeling
so secure and loved,
knowing you are there always,
to listen, to care,
comforting me,
me comforting you.
You hold my heart and always will,
somehow capturing the sun
in the midst of the driving rain,
saving it just for me.
In God's time and with His loving hand,
He has given me the gift
which is you
to love and to hold
as my partner
from now until
old.
