Membership to the Vlachernai Garrison is open to everyone (people under 18 years of age will need to provide written permission from a parent or guardian).

Do I have to participate in combat?

No, all activities are voluntary and participation is a personal choice.

Did the Vikings wear horned helmets?

No, definitely not! The only extant Viking helmet is fact the 'Gjermundbu' spectacle helm.

Do you run archery courses?

Yes, we run regular tournaments and workshops.

Where can I get arms and armour from?

We can show you how to make your own. And we can recommend merchants whom make or sell arms and armour.

Are patterns available for making costume?

Yes, all manner of patterns are available on request.
