The editor - in his own write:
Welcome back, I hope that everyone had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year and that you all are refreshed and ready for another year of fighting, feasting and frivolity. There are some interesting events coming up which should cater for everybody’s tastes.
On another note, we are still looking for a suitable hall for our meeting and training venue and I am still chasing information on the Varangian Songs. If anyone can help with either of these, I can be contacted on 93068542 [a/] or 0419515605 [mobile]

havamal - The sayings of the vikings:

ADVICE TO A VISITOR:
When passing
a door-post,
watch as you walk on,
 inspect as you enter.
It is uncertain
where enemies lurk
or crouch in a dark corner.
HOW TO SEAT A GUEST:
Giver of the feast!
Your guest is here.
Where shall he sit?
Fast temper grows
in a far seat.
Prompt him not to prove
his mettle.
THE WORDS OF WOMEN:
No one should trust
the words of a girl
or a married woman,
for their hearts
have been shaped
on a turning wheel
and they are
inconstant by nature.
REPUTATION:
Cattle die,
kinsmen die,
I myself shall die,
but there is one thing
which I know never dies:
he reputation
we leave behind
at our death.
