Domestic Abuse, Violence and Rape
    The Healing Power of Poetry

      ELIZABETH MELTON PARSONS
These poems are dedicated to those who are survivors of domestic violence, child abuse or rape. There are sample poems from  my new book and some poems that are not in the book.
Please understand that some of these poems are graphic and may be disturbing to some readers.

If you'd like to borrow one of my poems...you may do so with two conditions, first the poem may not be used for any commercial endeavor and you must always use my name. Please do not change the words, and a link to my offcial site would be nice too, but not neccessary.

RAPE
ABUSE
Monsters spearing flesh to satisfy
abnormal obsession by.
Victim's pain and terror will be
death's distraught intensity.

Sadistic intentions clear,
destroying that held dear.
Claws ripping savagely,
desperation seeks to flee.

Inner workings of the mind,
hidden deep so not to find.
Evil lives within,
the mind a monster's den.

Trembling terror to behold,
leaping out at times untold.
Pounding heart, sweating brow,
Sanity will leave you now.

Abuse flows down
through the years.
Generational found.
My rage I hear.
Father to son,
horrible lessons taught.
The deed is done
like an animal caught.
Gentleness lies dead,
maggots in rotting flesh.
Devils dance within your head.
My rage is fresh.
The hand of love
brings tears of pain.
A hard fist, a quick shove,
leaves the victim with the shame.
A legacy left behind,
family secrets to hide.
All eyes go blind,
no one to confide.
