Turn Over a New Leaf- Each person who wishes to participate contributes $2 to a money tree.  Each member starts with a tree with 8 leaves.  One side of the leaf should be green; the other side should be a fall-colored leaf (red, yellow, or orange).  On the green side, write one poor habit and on the colored side write a better one to replace it.  Each week, you turn over one of your leaves if you have a loss (or are a KOPS at or below goal) and one if you have replaced one of those bad habits with a good one for the week.  If you gain (or are a KOPS out of leeway), you must turn a leaf back to the green side.  If you turtle (or are a KOPS above goal, but in leeway) you do not turn a leaf either way.  The first person to have all 8 leaves turned over to the colored side wins the money tree.  If there is a tie the money is divided among the winners.
Examples of good/bad habits:
not enough exercise/exercise 3 x 20 minutes
not drinking water/drink at least 6 glasses per day
eating too many desserts/no more than two per week
not enough fruits and veggies/eat at least 3 servings per day
don't eat breakfast/eat breakfast every day
not enough sleep/get 7 - 8 hours of sleep per night
Try to make them things you need to work on.
Winter Blues- Each participant brings in a small gift wrapped in blue paper.  Decide the number of weeks to run the contest.  Points are earned as follows: For TOPS- 1 point for every 1/4 pound loss; lose 1 point for each 1/4 pound gain; 1/2 point for staying the same.  For KOPS- 1 point for being at or below goal; 1/2 point for being above goal, but in leeway; lose 1 point for being out of leeway
For everyone, one point is earned for staying for the meeting.  When the contest ends, members each choose a wrapped gift, starting with the member with the most points, and the one with the least gets the last gift.
Winter Blues (version 2)- The contest will run 8 weeks.  Each member who chooses to participate brings in a gift (not to exceed $3 or whatever amount the chapter chooses) wrapped in blue.  Members earn points each week as follows:
For TOPS, earn 1 point for a loss, 1/2 point for a turtle, and deduct one point for a gain.
For KOPS, earn 1 point if at or below goal, 1/2 point if above goal but in leeway, and deduct 1 point if out of leeway.
Everyone earns 1 point for staying for the meeting.
Everyone earns 1 point for each day they exercised at least 15 minutes.
At the end of the 8 weeks, the person with the most points chooses the first gift, the one with the next highest number chooses the second gift, etc., until all the gifts are gone.
Build a Snowman- Each member starts with a simple snowman of three circles on a piece of poster board or construction paper.  Every time a TOPS has a loss or a KOPS weighs in leeway, they get to add an item to their snowman.  Suggestions for things to add include arms, eyes, nose, hat, scarf, etc.  You can either draw them or use stickers.  Oriental Trading sells sets of stickers that are perfect for this type of contest.
Downhill Skiing- Draw a mountain on a piece of poster board.  Draw a series of horizontal lines from the top to the bottom of the mountain.  Each contestant should have a cutout figure of a skier to represent them.  For TOPS members, move their figure one line down the mountain for every 1/2 pound loss.  For KOPS, being in leeway allows the member to move one line down the mountain; being below goal allows them to move two lines down the mountain.  The winner is the first one to ski all the way to the bottom of the mountain.  Have one winner for TOPS and one for KOPS (if you have more than one KOPS member).  Prizes to be determined by the chapter.
