A Land bridge is an ice bridge that people crossed over 1,200 years ago. They needed the Land bridge to cross over from Russia to Alaska the Bering straight. The Land bridge is still there today but under the water. The Land bridge disappered after the ice age at 1,000 years ago. Land bridge was available 1,200 years ago for early man. This Land bridge was useful in ancient time because it helped them cross for supplies and follow herds of animals. They were sure of the land bridges would not break because it was rock solid. During the most recent ice age that ended about 10,000 years ago. Land bridge covered 580,000 square miles an roughly twice the size of Texas.      Humans crossed Beringia from Asia to North America about 13,000 years ago. Land bridges, also called Beringia, those humans passed from Asia to populate Americans. Land bridges this landmass linking Asia and North America was in fact up to 1,000 miles wide.
