Shop Pictures 3/26/2004
OK, the shop has been slow and I have been working harder at finding a job so not much has been done. I stripped the floor of rust and coated the interior floor in bedliner material. This is not per factory but will reduce the chances of rust again in the future. Bolts were installed into all of the floor holes to ensure I would get my seat belts and seats mounted again. The underside of the car will be coated in bedliner material also. This application was brushed on the inside floors but will be rolled on the bottom to reduce overspray and reduce unused material. The upper cowl area under the bug screen will also be coated as that area sees a lot of water if the car is washed or caught in the rain. The lower two pictures are pretty much self explanitory. The radiator support is just installed until after the body is removed again to touch up the frame and coat the underside of the car in bedliner material. I went ahead and cleaned off all the sanding dust from the motor. We decided to leave the motor in for all the body work because of door to fender alingment may be off without the motor.
OK, in my spare time, I have been working on this little gem. You boys may want to listen hard if you see an RX7 on the road from now on. This thing is powered by an LS1 with 6 speed manual. I worked on panel alignment and some body work on this car. The rear bumper has been sent to be refurbished before application of color and clear. I know pictures don't always show all the details but this car looks good out on the street. This is what the painter can do. I hope he can replicate that shine on my car.
