APRIL 19, 1998: Archie Lowe, Republic of Texas

Engelman: Our next speaker- and, uh, we're going to ask that we try and keep these down to about five or ten minutes. Our next speech, speaker is, uh, Archie Lowe: a Patriot, and a Patriot American. Archie?

First, I would like to thank Clive Doyle. And God bless you, brother.

I would like to say, that what America needs to do, is rediscover those ancient boundaries. The Bible talks about rediscovering those ancient markers, God's law. What have we let slip out of our fingers? What have we done by being apathetic, have we accomplished in the last several years, the last decade, the last twenty years? What have we done? We sit at home, and we've watched our televisions, enjoyed our sports, we've enjoyed our credit cards. We've shopped the specials at Wal Mart. We've lived the good life, haven't we. And look what it's gotten us. Let's go back and rediscover those ancient boundaries, those ancient markers. What did the people that started the United States, what did they have to say? "With a firm reliance on the protection of the divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor." It doesn't say anything about watching television or shopping at Wal Mart. These men, were dedicated to DEATH. Read the names. Read the names. Patrick Henry, Nathan Hale, Samuel Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson. On and on and on. Men of renown, like David's Mighty Men, they went out and did something, that put feat to their ideas, their desires, their knowledge of God's word and His law. The Declaration of Independence also states, whenever any form of governnent, government becomes destructive to those inalienable, God-given rights, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it and institute new government. [applause M:"Yeah, right!"]

In Texas: Article One, Section Two of the Constitution says political power is inherent in the people, and they have the inalienable- right- to change, or alter, or abolish their form of government in any manner they may deem expedient. That is the word, that is the law. [applause M:"Whoo!"]

Winston Churchill stated, "If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not so costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight when all the odds against you, are, are, are against you and only a precarious chance of survival exists. There may be a worse case: you may have to fight when there is no chance of victory. It is better to perish than to live as slaves." [applause M:"Yeah!"] I would encourage you, to get off your comfortable couches, get away from the television that mind-bent, bends your mind and forms your opinions. All these so-called, uh, um, surveys, that are forming up public opinion, public opinion, opinion right now. Know and understand that how unlawful it is for a President of the United States, to exec-, ex-, uh, issue executive orders. He makes law by opening his mouth; I thought that was the prerogative of Boris Yeltsin, Fidel Castro, Manuel Noriego [sic], or a multitude of other dictators that make law by dictating. That's what that is, when you actually create law by opening your mouth with an executive decision.

I'll leave you with one more quote from a fellow named Samuel Adams. And I want t-, I want you to know, I'm saying this to myself as much as I am saying it to you. But take this and plant seed with it. Let it grow; we need a crop. "If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude greater than the animating contest of freedom, then go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsels nor your arms: may your chains sit lightly upon you, crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that you were our countryman." [F:"Whoo!"] I didn't say it, Samuel Adams said it. [applause] But where are we in the world today. [applause] Take to heart what I'm saying; it's not my words, it's something greater than myself. I'm not this kind of guy. I live out on a farm and I would prefer to live out there, tend my animals, grow my crops. But God's judgments will be poured out on a rebellious people. We have been given opportunity after opportunity to repent, but we have refused. May God have mercy on a selfish, uncooperative, unwilling, unrepentant people. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. [M: "All right!"] Thank you. [applause]

Engelman: Thanks, Archie...
