Allowing the alternator to swing in toward the block
					The area just above and to the right of the mounting bolt needs to be ground down to allow the body of the alternator to swing in  enough to touch the block, so that the belt can be installed . When this picture was taken I thought I had ground off enough but more had to be removed. (The top surface of the generator mounting bracket gets ground down along with it.) Here you can also see that the hole in the engine mounting plate is bigger than the bolt.
