At a special halftime ceremony during the "Branding Iron" game, the stadium was renamed in honor of Dr. Gunn. Many former coaches and players returned for this special event.

April 28th
Principal, Ken Gunn, GLC, Jerry Dutton, and Instructional Dean, Judy Manthorne announce their retirement and shock the WHS community.

April 19th
WHS named Distinguished School by state department of Education for a sixth time.
"Walnut High School principal Ken Gunn said it's the mix of strong communities of families, students and staff that are vital to becoming a California Distinguished School. 'Any success we have is a combination of three things -- kids, teachers, supportive community. When you put those things together, good things can happen,' Gunn said." San Gabriel Valley Tribune
