Aargh, there isn't a boat bound for Rhodes for the next five days and we have no plans of waiting in Athens that long, we have a hole vacant flat waiting for us in Rhodes-city.

As an alternative route we are advised to go to Paros and catch a ferry there, it will save us a day or two, and so we do. The ferry is quickly packed with InterRailers, we are lucky to get a place to stay and sleep. But the ferry take its time before setting out on the Aegean Sea, we wait an hour in the imense heat in Pireus, impatient.
