Florence
Ah, Florence!

We stayed in Florence during the 3rd week of our journey. Filled with museums, churches, and sculptures, Florence is an artist's dream.
Although we stayed for 9 days, we felt we could have remained for  several more weeks and still not have seen the majority of the city's sights.

In addition to the city of Florence, there are several smaller towns in Tuscany which make wonderful 'day trips', where you can get a more authentic view of Italian life and see the glorious countryside. Just to name a few, we saw Pisa, Lucca, Fiesole, Vinci, Empoli, and Sienna.
There are several copies of Michelango's masterpiece, David, in and around Florence. This one stands guarding the entry to the Palazzo Vecchio
