Wednesday was a chore day for both Erin and I. Erinīs task for the day was to work on the website that we had not luck to work on for the last 4 weeks (ever since we had gone to Greece). My tasks included downloading what we had (journals and photos) to the hard drive for Erin to work with, along with going to Bologna to (hopefully) pick up mail and, if time permitted, do laundry.

We got up with the intention of getting to the internet cafe as soon as they opened. We were only a half hour behind, so not too bad. The other goal I had was to catch the 11:25 am train to Bologna (the least expensive) that would get me there around 1:00 or so. The internet cafe we used remembered us from the last time as we asked to use the administrator card (to get into the C: drive) and were locating the computers that already had the PDA and Card Reader software loaded on them. They were very helpful in getting us set up and within the time I had allotted, I had transferred everything Erin needed to the hard drive and / or file manager within the website. I took off to catch the 11:25 am train around 11:10 am and left Erin to the website.

I arrived at the train station only to find out that the train I wanted was going to be late by 35 minutes and the machine was not selling any more tickets for that train at that time. I opted for the 12:15 pm train and sat around the station patiently waiting for the time to pass. I arrived in Bologna around 1:30 pm and off I was to the local post office. I was hoping for the best but was not sure what to expect. I arrived at the post office 20 minutes later and, lucky for us, the mail had arrived. The mail here was very important, as it was our Eurorail passes that we had planned to use during our time here. I was extremely happy (of course it took over 30 minutes to actually get the mail) and off I went back towards the train station. At this point I was in no hurry as the next train did not leave for another hour and I had time to kill. I strolled around town, always heading towards the train station, if not so directly. I made my way back in time to catch the 3:15 pm train back to Florence. I arrived in Florence around 4:30 pm and spent some time at the Eurorail information booth verifying how to use the passes and checking on the choices of trips from Cinque Terre to Barcelona (our next big trip).

After my visit with Eurorail information I headed back to the hotel, gathered our dirty laundry, and continued on to the laundromat only after letting Erin know that I had made it back into town. The laundry took 1 1/2 hours before I could meet Erin back at the internet cafe. I met some other travelers at the laundromat and we spent some of the time chatting about (what else) our travels and adventures. I caught back up with Erin around 7:00 pm where she had been slaving away since 9:30 am that morning. We checked a few other emails and wrapped up for the day. Erin had worked hard today, so we grabbed some of her favorite Chinese take away before heading back to the room to eat and relax. She read and I relaxed and crashed early as we ended our chore day.
A beautiful ocean view in Cinque Terre.
