It's Sunday and I am ready for a day off and we still have not enjoyed the beautiful beaches of Barcelona. That is the plan for today but we also want to get some chores done. Our first stop was to trade in some books at the bookstore. We found a nearby bookstore but they did not trade books so we found ourselves buying a few new books to read. You can't imagine what Erin is like without a good book to read!!! We returned to our room to drop the old books off. Next we had to do some shopping for some basic essentials. We found two grocery stores near the market, one that sold groceries and the other that sold household supplies. We bought the required items between the two stores (I needed some shaving cream and razors) and returned to the room once again to drop our purchases off. (We even bought milk and apple juice as thte place we were staying would allow us to use the refrigerator.)

Now we were finally ready to go to the beach!!! Not yet. Erin was hungry, and it was lunch time, so we stopped for a bite to eat at a pub on the way to the beach. We finally arrived at the beach around 3:00 pm. I never thought we would get here. The beach was busy and the scenery wasn't bad, but the water was dirtier than I expected. We laid out sunning ourselves until after 6:30 pm. We were trying to figure out what to do next and Erin offered up going to IMAX but I dallied around long enough that we missed the show. We strolled back to our place, cleaned up and napped before deciding to go out for dinner around 10:00 pm. We enjoyed a light meal before heading back to the room around midnight. We needed a good nights sleep as tomorrow is a long travel day including an overnight train from Barcelona to Sevilla.
