I came into a dream finding myself resting in your arms
My head resting gently on your shoulder
We were traveling on our way somewhere
Enjoying the solitude of being alone together
Away from the watchful eyes of others
I was wrapped in a cocoon of your warmth and embrace
My eyes closed in peaceful half-sleep
As this moment in its perfectness comsumed me
My heart filled into near bursting to cry out in a secret confessional
"I love being wih you!"
But not a word escaped from my lips
Tears inwardly burned amd scorched my soul
For the desire of something that I couldn't havefor now
How but in a dream could we share a moment such as this
When our paths have not yet crossed
There in my dream, the moment was now
I dared not speak the words of my heart
And have you laugh at me in scorn
For all that we shared before-
For all of the road blocks and misunderstandings between us
So in silence I stayed enjoying what I had of you
You-this moment-together
Imagine my surprise when to my ears
Came the words I so longed to hear-confirming my wish
As to your heart's true emotion
You spoke quietly, in nearly a whisper
"I love being with you" you said
And my heart leaped from my chest
The words covered my whole being and
Sank deep into my heart
When my joy became too great
And I found some bravery deep down
I quietly replied,"I love being with you, too."
It was perfect
It was complete
It ended right there
How else could such a moment have come to be but in a dream
conceived by my own mind and my own heart
While my body innocently slept on
