The Black rider stoped infront of us, saying in a spirit like voice "Let me pass, in the name of the people". With that said I moved aside for him. It turns out though that Marr has this man condemed as the Black Sun, a bandit who doesn't know he does wrong. Marr had no intentions of letting him past.
An argument brewed over the rights and wrongs of what the Black Sun
does. Tollers tried to settle it, as did I. I grew impatient
and left to the castle.
Marr kept telling the rider that his ways hurt more then they helped,
and that it was his fault that the border towns were getting invaded.
He had only heard this from rumors. The Black Knight decided Marr
was wrong and set a challenge. Marr accepted. Should Marr win
the rider would give up, should Marr lose the rider would get to pass.
Tollers, cut in asking the rider if his ways were good and true and
to answer a question. Tollers asked if the rider had indeed stole
the kings gold. The rider didn't respond, which annoyed Tollers somewhat.
Mithramir casted some spell on the rider, which did nothing, but according
to Mith proved he was not undead.
Soon after soldiers arrived, and the duel started between Marr and
the rider. No one was hurt and then the rider left. The soldiers
just mounted back up and left after exchanging glaces with the dark rider
who dueled Marr.
When the soldiers were asked what they were doing they simply said.
"we were trying to find out where the Black Sun hides, but we failed".
They too rode off. A rather odd ending to a rather odd encounter.
I soon turned back to find the others after the Black Sun, who is believed to be the dark rider Marr dueled passed me. I did attempt to follow, but could not catch up.
We made our way pretty far in the next couple days. Although I fear a terrible storm is approaching.
