The Indoor Sports
Though the Warings are made of good hardy Canadian stock, even they have to come indoors to warm up once in a while, and if one is going to warm up, one might as well be playing games.  They brought Pictionary, Blurt, Rummikub, and a deck of playing cards for bridge or Crazy 8's.  Pictionary was arguably the family favorite of the weekend, but Rummikub was a good choice when they were just too weary for races against time, and Catherine was starting to get worried that everyone was using up her drawing paper!
Below:  Rummikub was a new game for Catherine, so she played on a team with Dad until she got the hang of it.  Lewis, however, was more than man enough to hold his own in the game.  Meanwhile, Patrick could put up a serious challenge himself, but what's life if you can't stop once in a while to sing, "C Is For Cookie, that's good enough for me"?
"C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me,
C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me,
Cookie, cookie, cookie start with C!"
(borrowed from the Cookie Monster in Sesame Street)
The Game Isn't Over Yet

Rummikub came with the additional benefit of having plenty of tiles to build towers when one was done with the game.  The main challenge here was that all of the budding architects had to build on the same surface, so if some  builder happened to accidentally bump the table, all of the structures would crumble to the ground, earning the hapless offender many squawks of protest!
At seven stories, Patrick was able to erect the tallest tower; however, height isn't everything, and Lewis' fortress managed to survive more than one minor tremor of the table, before the big earthquake took everything down!
