kazak Tue 07-Jan-03 07:48 PM
"A warrior's report" The matter is settled, we have pushed the knights from our city. The battle went precisely as planned with little or no resistance from the knights. Those who took part have achieved glory for their guild; Chay Stil Liynk Hanson Demonika Deathshead and myself I will leave the main report to Chay as I'm too knackered by it all and need a good nap to recover. Be steadfast, we have made no friends in Devadec this day. chay Tue 07-Jan-03 08:19 PM <salute> Hail Warriors. This night has been one of great victory. Losses to us: None. Losses to them: Many. <hur> Time was given for those knights still alive to vacate the Tower before it was brought to rubble. Most chose to remain. ::Chay shrugs:: That was their choice. A full report of the battle is already on its way to Lord Zir. A complete accounting is on the boards here and in the guild archives already. 'Ware the battlements Warriors and expect retaliation. We will be ready. Glory to the Warriors! blade501 Wed 08-Jan-03 12:36 AM "To Those Involved" A pigeon lands before the guild, carrying a scroll. A young warrior detaches it and places it onto the generic Warrior's board. It reads: To Whom was Involved, (You is to those who participated – not the whole guild) I will start this letter through my formal self as I am addressing a whole other guild. I will keep it short and to the point, even though I have much to say. I will also try to keep emotion out of it, for I do not wish to instigate a guild war. From one guild to another, let the common knowledge be spoken. Before any action is to be committed it is proper conduct to consult the guild in question in the hopes of finding a more peaceful and efficient answer. Last night you attacked a guild you had not consulted. You were against our outpost from being in your territory and feared us to police your city without your own permission. These are understandable fears and I do believe them valid for discussion. While Sylvanus has written upon our own boards, the outpost in question is older than even I and it was only used to help you in the invasions that have become more imminent with the changing of eras. We do not police the city of Tranos for that is not the proper way. The incident with the Thieves was personal to us. No warrior offered aid and I understood why. It was not of your concern. We were in Tranos those days to deal with a pending war (which I might add still goes on). You speak of the past desire to place an outpost of your own in Devardec. That is an issue to be taken up to the Baron. The Knight’s protested it solely because Devardec was well guarded already. I wish I could say the same about Tranos for I do have respect for it as a city but that is an issue to be taken up by the Baron and myself. As for this incident? Thousands of times you could’ve voiced your opinions against the tower. I would have provided you with a good place to rest, food and festivities. You never walked this path and that is a disgrace to everything political up to this point. If it was the Guildmaster who agreed to this attack, I will be deeply saddened. I am more hurt than angered as our intentions were obviously misunderstood to the extreme. Insult us all you want. While you should expect a response, (and I am not sure quite what the response will be) know that I will still treat each Warrior with respect, despite the offenses thrown my way. Much loss has come of this day. From the bond I thought we held as guilds to the lives lost for an act such as this. May the heavens help our minds and spirits Sincerely, Knight’s GM Heimdall, Avatar of the Sun kazak Wed 08-Jan-03 01:28 AM <Kazak reads the scroll and pins it on the message boards> When you address a warrior Heimdall, you address every warrior. I have no shame in the part I took in the battle. I was asked by my guild to perform a duty, and perform it I did, to the best of my abilities knowing the cause was just. Let all read this 'message', mayhap they make more sense of it then I did. But then, I was never a great reader. chay Wed 08-Jan-03 02:18 AM Hail Heimdall. Salute. Chay will answer these with the same respect as they have been brought up. >>Last night you attacked a guild you had not consulted. You were against our outpost from being in your territory and feared us to police your city without your own permission. These are understandable fears and I do believe them valid for discussion. While Sylvanus has written upon our own boards, the outpost in question is older than even I and it was only used to help you in the invasions that have become more imminent with the changing of eras.<< Ye built that tower right on our back door when ye could have placed it ANY where in the perimeter of the city boundaries. Ye did nay consult us either. Nay once did ye come to us and ask if we wanted or needed a tower of yers there. So the tower that was built without respect to the guild who's backyard it blocks.. has been removed in the same manner. Also... The fact that ye chose where ye did to place it is far too obvious to have been anything BUT a deliberate insult to us. Additionally, and something yer knights are so quick to gloss over was yer deliberate scribing on that tower an insult to the Blades of Zir. For ye to come into a city, and build a tower with such a scribing right on the back door of the guild that is Patroned by Zir.. is beyond effrontery. If ye persist in denying the deliberate insult in this then ye show the world the truth of yer "honor" and "integrity" for only a fool does nay see this. >>You speak of the past desire to place an outpost of your own in Devardec. That is an issue to be taken up to the Baron. The Knight’s protested it solely because Devardec was well guarded already. I wish I could say the same about Tranos for I do have respect for it as a city but that is an issue to be taken up by the Baron and myself.<< Ye know nothing of why it was refused. Chay was GM at the time and it was Chay who went to yer guild and approached them about this. We ever showed them the spot we wished to build it which was nay by yer guild. We were told that the city belonged to yer guild to guard and protect and ye dinna want another fighting guild within its walls. Ye also told us ye dinna wish yer young to be confused in which guild they should join. Perhaps now that ye have the facts from the person who was trying to negotiate this, it will clear up any more misquotes of facts. As for the time.. That tower was added in Chay's time and we bided our time. The recent years have seen an increase in yer claims of what is and isnt yer protectorship. Yer encroachment on the lands even when the lands have made it clear they did nay wish ye to be building there has become untennable. For ones who ignore the wishes of others, it be mind boggling that ye are so upset that yer own wishes were ignored in this? Ye build without regard for others feelings. So we tore down without regard for yours. Ye have nothing to complain of. >>As for this incident? Thousands of times you could’ve voiced your opinions against the tower. I would have provided you with a good place to rest, food and festivities. You never walked this path and that is a disgrace to everything political up to this point. If it was the Guildmaster who agreed to this attack, I will be deeply saddened.<< As a matter of fact Chay has voiced her opinions of this.. to yer GLs. To Brynmor when he was GM. Even to Cassandra. And what came of it? We were told too bad. It's there. Deal with it. Ye truly need to learn the facts from those involved before posting on things in a public venue. As for Tol_Kajjir rest assured he too has chafed under the shadow that tower has cast on our guild and fully supported the planned attack of last night. We do nay act without the authority of our Guildmaster. He is the ruler under Zir in our guild. From the bond I thought we held as guilds to the lives lost for an act such as this.<< For all that ye believe ye hold great age Heimdall ye truly do nay. Our guilds have nay ever formed a "bond" as ye call it. We have striven against each other in most things since we broke away and formed our own guild in Tranos under Ulf. As far as we are concerned, retribution has been taken and paid. There be no further need for action or deaths. Next time ye wish to build find out if those around ye wish ye to be there. Show respect if ye wish to expect it back. Ye had yer chance to right the wrong yerselves and would nay do so. Now it is done for ye. kazak Wed 08-Jan-03 02:24 AM aye Chay my sister, ye always were more eloquont than me. Plus about five times me age too <ducks> sylvanus Wed 08-Jan-03 03:17 AM Just so everyone has their story straight, the Fortress of Light was a gift from Alvogyl. It was he, as Immortal of Light at the time, who constructed the fortress. May his spirit rest in peace. alcestis Wed 08-Jan-03 04:27 AM To my recollection the Fortress of Light was originally the Castle Greyfalk (or something similar)which was derelict for many years. Blueheart bought it for the guild and dedicated it to Alvogyl. It was all rather exciting at the time. thalador Wed 08-Jan-03 08:30 AM Warriors, Well done. Your strike was Hard, Fast and Precise. You are to be commanded and applauded for such a deed. That tower and the words wrote upon it was a disgrace to both the Warriors and all those Faithful to Lord Zir. Im only irked on one count.... Ya shouldve invited me, I wouldve had a blast watching it(pun intended). tol_kajjir Thu 09-Jan-03 07:36 AM Weep now Heavens, weep as a violent summer's storm, weep for Heimdall in hopes to fill his well of sorrows, for he shall not have tears enough. Yes Heimdall, the action taken was with my full knowledge and authority. Authority bequest me by Our Lord ZIR! and with the knowledge of The Deori. As for speaking against that abomination, we had many times, but long past is the time for words. I am a man of few words, perhaps in the future they will not be wasted again. Somewhat poetic though, being that in wasting my words, you have wasted your tower. Those before you sowed the seeds, and now is your great misfortune that it is you to reap the whirlwind. Perhaps next time Our words will not fall upon deaf ears, but this is not for me to decide; my decision comes after. As for reprisal; and do take this a a threat, please; Reprise, and I promise you, you shall never see us coming; Again. vodericus Fri 10-Jan-03 04:15 AM "As for speaking against that abomination, we had many times, but long past is the time for words. " In 100 years, not one Warrior has spoken to me, or to any other Knight I've talked to, about this "abomination". Not when I was in the political inner circle of the guild; not when I was a rebel on the fringe. Word whispered only to the wind are indeed wasted--especially when there were and are those in the guild who would have listened to your arguments and found some justice in them. I've learned much of the Warriors from this: wasted words, wasted acts, wasted lives, wasted allies. I see a pattern. What *I* find poetic is: The Knights built, the Warriors only destroyed. chay Fri 10-Jan-03 05:23 PM >>In 100 years, not one Warrior has spoken to me, or to any other Knight I've talked to, about this "abomination"<< You were not considered of sufficient importance to run to you with it Voderic. Sorry to burst yer bubble of self-importance but ye come and go in the lands much and think each return that ye are still basking in the days of yer former glories. Ye are but one of many hundreds and hundreds of knights in the lands and simply because YE were nay one of those spoken with, ye assume it could not have happened? This attitude is precisely the root of the cancer that eats at yer guild now. As for building... We have our own places.. we simply did nay run over everyone else and place them where they weren't wanted. chay Sat 11-Jan-03 01:31 AM "Well done warriors!" Chay stands in the guild bar and listens to the Warriors and hears in their voices the renewed unity and singleness of spirit. She smiles, listens for a few more mins, then walks out to where the message post is. Taking a parchment from a table nearby, she quietly scribes a note to the guild members. "Warriors.. You have heaped much glory and honor on yourselves. Your courage and patience, your energy and eagerness, won the day. Everyone of you should be proud of yourselves. Always remember this time... this community of the spirit that is called the Warrior's Guild. We will fight amongst ourselves from time to time, but never forget this battle and that we are more then the sum total of our arguments.. we are a GUILD. And when outside forces push against us, all spats between us should become meaningless as we face the common enemy. You are served by one of the finest Guildmasters this guild has seen in Tol_kajjir. Beside Chay's brother Forgrim, there is none she respects more or honors more. Never forget how lucky you are to have such a strong, passionate, glory filled Guildmaster. He is blessed by Zir and ye are blessed by him. For what its worth.. Chay could nay be prouder of or prouder to have battled at the side of all of ye. Well done Warriors all. Salute. chay Tue 14-Jan-03 01:16 AM "A decision to make, Warriors" "Warriors, We have now time to consider our use of the battlesite we have taken. A couple of suggestions have been to leave it as a watering hole/swimming pond for the mounts. Another has been to expand the guild bar and turn it into an area for the Warriors revelries and relaxation. Chay looks for yer ideas. Post yer thoughts on this matter on this pillar. Till then your efforts to clear the site have gone very well and yer willingness to allow the knights to aid has been admirable. We do nay need to lord over them our position and to do so brings little honor at this point. Ye have done very well indeed. Chay also leaves ye with something taken from an ancient tome of battle. ------------ Thus we may know that there are five essentials for victory: (1) He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight. (2) He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces. (3) He will win whose army is animated by the same spirit throughout all its ranks. (4) He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared. (5) He will win who has military capacity and is not interfered with by the sovereign. ------------ Hur.. Glory to the Warriors! "The enemy in retreat" Previous topic | Next topic chay Fri 10-Jan-03 05:58 PM Hail Warriors! <salute> Unable to withstand the "combat" of words, the knights have retreated from the field of battle, gone into hiding and have buried the entire event. While we aimed to simply right a long standing wrong, it was impossible to foresee the extent to which they would go once faced with an actual defeat. It would seem that the strength of the knights was in the fact that they never faced a defeat before and apparently, lack the moral fortitude to do so honorably. Our strength and unity grows stronger then ever. Now it is a time to continue to build our unity Warriors. The knights have backed down and we have gained our city back in its entirety. Chay asks that we leave what is left of them alone and allow them to try to find themselves once again. Refrain from leaving more parchments on their boards unless ye are specifically named or attacked. We will leave them alone for that which we battled for we have won. Our City. There is nay need for further battles to be fought. Let the field of battle be cleared, let the dead rejoin the earth, and let life continue. Hail to the BLACK DRAGONS! GLORY TO THE WARRIORS! kazak Mon 13-Jan-03 07:47 PM <salutes Chay> Aye, well said sister! Now we must turn to our own defenses and that of our city, now we have it, we must keep it through the coming times |
