JESSIE: The next week went by quickly, but I was completely glad to be at home and to have Wattley there, instead of roaming that great big house all by myself. Nights were the worst, I missed my husband terribly, and I knew he felt the same way. My cell phone or the answering machine at the house was filled with his voice. Or Zac's, looking for Wattley. I had to smile to myself, it seemed like they were becoming closer, since he was so far away. Watts and I began her training for the Galaxy the day the stitches came out of my arm, which was another good diversion for all of us, including Lacey. "Jessie..I swear to god you're trying to kill me.." Watts complained after that morning's workout. "I am not...in two weeks you'll be whining at me to challenge you 'cause this is too easy. You have to climb that freakin' wall and I don't want you blast your knee like Brandy did. You'll be useless for at least a year, if you blow out your knee, then you won't have to worry about HAWAII.." I grumbled in my best trainer mode, making Jakey pat me on the head. "You really are MY sister...no doubt about it.." he chuckled and went about checking the weight machines to make sure they were safe. "That's comforting Jacob.." I rolled my eyes at him. "You drive me insane.." "EXCUSE ME MISS FITNESS AMERICA..." he grinned and poked me in my sore arm. "Oww...you dork.." I groaned. "But you have a point.." I grinned, relenting. "Yeah..and if all I got was an OW..after poking you in the arm, that means you can get your ass back to work...you do have a shitload of work for the next couple of weeks." he said. "Gah..yes boss.." I muttered with a grin. "Me and you tomorrow morning Miss Wattley. I'll kick my own ass along with yours, kay? Lace..you game?" I asked. "Oh suuuuree.." she giggled. "I'll be falling asleep on Ike when he calls me though.." TAYLOR: The day of Jess' radio spot with Drew, I hooked up my laptop and put on the head phones to listen. I loved to hear her do those spots with Drew, he knew just how to fluster her, but she always held her ground. I thought that was what she liked about him. "So? Miss Fitness America...I KNEW you'd be back with the title, so let's skip that and get right to the juicy stuff...how was your honeymoon?" he asked her and MY jaw dropped open. "It was a HONEYMOON, you geek.." she retorted. "What do you think?" "Settle down girlfriend..' Drew chuckled, "and thank you, AND Taylor, because I KNOW he's listening out there somewhere, for having me at your reception, it was a lot if fun. And I got a chance to check out you competition." he told her. "We were glad you could make it Drew." she told him honestly. "But what competition are you talking about?" she asked. "I BELIEVE she was also one of your bridesmaid's. Robin..Watson..I think it is.." he urged. "OH!!" Jess giggled. "You mean Wattley...she's one of my very best friends. I don't think of her as competition. But she's awesome. I'm actually training her right now to enter the Galaxy Competition in Florida. It's alot more extreme than the Fitness America, or the new figure competitions." I was proud of my wife. This was HER spot, and she was plugging her friend, knowing Drew would MAKE her talk about herself and answer the neverending weightloss questions she was bombarded with on a daily basis, e-mail, letters, Q&A articles, and Q&A segements on radio and TV. I listened a bit longer and realized her spot was about over. I picked up my cell phone and dialed. "Okay, Jessie." Drew asked her while I waited on hold. "We have time for one more call, what do you say? Can we take another one?" "Sure, no problem.." she said. "Okay caller are you there?" I heard Drew ask. "Yeah. Hey Drew. Love your show.." I told him. "Hey backatcha man.." he chuckled. "Got a quesstion for Jess?" he asked. "NO HE DOES NOT!" Jessie laughed. "Hi Taylor, you can't pull this on me all the time without me figuring it out, silly. How are you?" she asked me. "Hi Jess. Okay you got me..I was listening and I couldn't resist calling my beautiful and brainy wife. And I DO have a question." I told her. "Oh really? Okay baby, fire away.." she giggled. "What do you recommend for insomnia? I'm having a heck of a time sleeping on this bus." I told her. "Aww.." she giggled, playing along. "I'm not a doctor, as you KNOW.." she laughed again. "But I would recommend nightly phone calls to your wife and then flying her out to meet you in...oh...a couple of weeks? How does that sound?" she asked. "Sounds good to me." I said. "I'm really proud of you Jess, I just wanted to tell you that. And thanks for coming all the way to Tulsa for the reception Drew. It meant alot." "I wouldn't have missed it. Thanks for calling Taylor, always good to have you and your brothers on the show. I see we have you guys slated for when you come around her on tour?" Drew continued. "Yeah. We're on the other side of the U.S. right now, but we should be back around your area in a month or so. The tour's going great, we're excited about it. We'll be happy to come in and talk to you." I said. "Cool, well that's it for us.." I heard him go into his,'going off the air' spiel and waited. "Thanks to Jessie Lee Hanson for coming in and answering questions and keeping us up to date...and thanks to you too, Taylor Hanson, who I believe is still on the line.." "Yeah, still here.." I confirmed. "Cool, for always managing to find time to talk to us when his wife's on the air. When you're not so busy I'd love to have the two of you come in together. " he stated. "Sure." Jess and I said simultaneously, then laughed. |
