TAYLOR:

"I gotta take off Jess, but I'll talk to you tonight, okay?" I said quickly.
"Alright, Tay. Talk to you soon, baby." she said softly.
"Love you." I told her.
"Love you more.." she teased making Jake and Drew laugh, along with myself.
"Not possble. Be safe. Later Jake.." I said. Everyone in the room shouted their goodbyes and I hung up, then listened to the end of the show. two weeks couldn't pass by quickly enough.
JESSIE:
"Ugh! What a goober.." I giggled after Tay hung up and we were off the air. "Jess you dork. He only does that cause he misses you.." Jake said.
"I know. I miss him like crazy already. I'd be crushed if he didn't call when I was on the air with Drew now anyway. It's tradition." I laughed. "I guess so." Drew grinned. "What are you guys doing later?" he asked Jake and I. "Aren't you having dinner with Abbey tonight, Jakey?" I asked. "Yeah, I need to meet her pretty quick actually. Ready to go Jess?" he asked me. "Actually, Jakey...I kinda wanted to run downtown...I wanted to stop in at Purple East...the shop upstairs..." I said and laughed as Drew's jaw hit the floor. "What is so funny?" Dave asked, as Jacob shook his head at me. "Come on, Jakey. You know I hate re-touched photos of myself, and what about competitions? This damn scar is going to be there forever and it's BIG. I hate it. and I only said I was taking a YEAR off, Tay and I already discussed it. I'm gonna kick Wattley's ass in the Galaxy in two years, which means I have to do ALL the other contests that year too, or she'll beat
me." I grinned. "Better that, than a big ugly scar. You should have let me scar Alex' fucking forehead..hope he and Eric are enjoying each other's company.." I grouched. "Jessie I wish you would have told me before I talked to Abbey. I HAVE to meet her, I can't go hold your hand. And besides, what about the baby? Did you even talk to Dr. West?" he asked. "Yes, mother. I did. I've been in the damn stupid emergency room enough that I've been vaccinated on top of being poked at and prodded for no good reason. He said it was okay. So kiss my ass." I grinned. "Does Tay know?" he asked me. "JACOB LEE!! Last I looked Taylor Hanson was my husband, NOT my mother..and besides.." I grinned sheepishly, "I wanted to surprise him." "Good lord. Okay. Ink your brains out. But Dave will have to hold your hand, I REALLY have to meet Abbey, Jess." he told me. "That's fine Jacob. Give her a hug for me when she lets you out of the doghouse. what'd you do this time?" I
giggled. "Nothing. I have a SURPRISE for her." he grinned. "OH YOU SHIT!! REALLY??" I squealed. "Yeah...keep it down. You have a mouth like the Grand Canyon, geek." he ruffled my hair. "Oooh...no way!! JAKEY!!" I squealed again and jumped on him, hugging my big, burly brother tightly. "Jess!" he laughed, "Dammit I can't breathe.." "Sorry." I smiled and reached up to lay my hand on his cheek. He bent down and hugged me back, giving me a light squeeze before he stood. "Go sweep your woman off her feet." I told him. "Dave will go with me, since he's not allowed to let me out of his sight anyway. And I don't need anyone to hold my hand." I flexed my bicep and laughed. "Show off.." Jake muttered and tossed Dave the keys to the rental car. "Wow.." Drew commented and reached out to touch my arm. "What?" I asked. "Never seen a female one of these up close." he joked, poking the top of my bicep. "Oh brother.." I giggled. "Well then check this out.." I raised both my arms and turned, doing a classic pose to show back, shoulders and arm muscles, which I knew were impressive for a woman my size or I would not have taken the title. "Damn.." Drew breathed. "Tay's a lucky man.." he grinned. "Thank you." I smiled back. "But I'm the lucky one. Take care Drew. I'll probably be back when the band is back here. Thanks for having us." I told him. "Hey....anytime Jess. Ummm?" Drew was blushing and I was shocked.
"What's up Drew?" I asked. "My shift here is over, do you mind if I hang out and watch you get your ink?" he asked. "Sure. The more the merrier. If you ears can handle the string of profanity I've been known to let loose with when in severe pain or just plain pissed off." I teased.

JESSIE:

"PROFANITY?? YOU?? NO WAY!!" he  exclaimed. "Oh shut up smart ass." I giggled. "Why don't you join Dave and I for dinner, too? I saw Plunk was playing tonight. And the Intersection's food is about the only thing I miss from this frozen tundra state. It'll be fun." I urged and Drew agreed to join us.

"Jessie...I dunno man." Dave urged. "Tay might actually freak out, instead, babe." I growled and rolled my eyes. "I KNOW my husband, okay. He's not gonna freak. Especially when he sees what it is. Plus he won't have to look at the stupid ugly scar either. You KNOW how he was until the bruises on my neck healed, Dave." I said.
"Okay." he relented. "Need a hand to hold? Bullet to bite?" he teased as I got into the chair and  laid my arm on the rest so the artist could get at it. "Sock to stuff?" I interjected, making Drew chuckle. "Kinda fiesty ain't she?" he grinned at Dave. "Yeah...and she sucks at poker too. Dunno why Tay puts up with her smart ass." Dave joked. "Bite me, suckers." I giggled. "And DON'T EVEN start with the poker thing Dave. You had an unfair advantage. I was drugged, Tay made me take that pain pill before he left." I winced and sucked in my breath as the artist started his work. I was actually glad that Dave and Drew were there, it made the time go faster and distracted me from the sting of the needle. When the artist was done, he looked down at my belly ring. "Need another one done, before you leave town, Jess? I could use the plug when people start asking where you get your art done." he grinned. "Not this time, Mikey. But I'll send them your way when
they ask about the ink, baby. Once my little bundle of joy is done stretching out my navel you can redo my tummy, maybe Tay will want another one by then." I smiled. "Okay, cool. Say hi to him for me. And make sure he doesn't get any ink done anywhere but here, I can do one for him, that matches yours, but not identical." Mike said.
"You got it, but I doubt he'll do it. Nice work, though. I LOVE IT!" I told him and flexed my shoulder. "Awesome." I grinned. I paid the man, then grabbed the jar of medicated cream and we left, going to the Intersection to eat and listen to the band. Drew and Dave got along well and I didn't feel in the least bit uncomfortable when people came up to me, to ask questions or have me sign something. It was a weird experience only in that Tay wasn't with me, and I only wound up signing stuff when the girls who crowded around him realized who I actually was. There were a few who tried to stare me down, or give me the evil eye, but I ignored them. I knew exactly where he wanted to be by the end of the day. It was a new experience, and Dave only smiled when people waiting to talk to me commented on how 'down to earth' I was. Finally, he had to shoo everyone away. "Let Ms. Hanson at least finish her dinner. I imagine she'll be more than happy to sign things or answer questions once she's eaten. Thank you." he announced as the crowd finally dispersed. It wasn't a big crowd, but enough to be a huge distraction The band began to play, but I was becoming tired quickly and only lasted through the first set. Also, the setting was reminding me of the first few dates Tay and I went on and I was missing my husband like crazy. "Sorry Drew. I really need to call it a night." I yawned. "That's cool, Jess. Thanks for hangin' out. He stood and hugged me. "Thank you. I would have been asleep in front of the TV three hours ago." I told him. "See you in a few weeks."
"Take care Jess." he kissed my cheek and Dave ushered me out the door.
