"Yeah, Jake..." he chuckled again. "I don't think she's ready to wake up yet, Jake. She has a bad headache, but it has nothing to do with what she was drinking last night.."
"Yeah, I can...sure..where?" I heard him say.
"Yeah, man...I'll be right there...no problem. Yep. Bye."
"What was that all about?" I asked.
"Jake says to tell you he's sorry to have to rip me away from you, " he grinned, "but he asked if I could come and help him out with some legal stuff...you don't mind do you?" he asked.
"Of course not, Tay. As long as you are back to pick me up for lunch..." I giggled and then groaned. He laughed then.
"I was not DRUNK." I pouted and pulled the covers back over my head.
"I know, Jess. You told me.." He leaned down and kissed me on the cheek. "I'm gonna go take a shower, you go back to sleep baby. I'll be back soon."
I rolled back toward him and wrapped my arms around him, hugging him to me. "Hurry back, sweetie..." I said and kissed him. He kissed me back and got out of bed. he tucked me in and I grabbed his pillow and held it to my chest. He chuckled again and left the room, I fell asleep listening to him sing in the shower. When I woke up two hours later he was still gone.
I got up and went into the kitchen to find coffee made and a note with two aspirin on it.

    Jessie,
If you are up before I get back, here is your coffee. I want you to take the aspirin and get yourself dressed, because I will be home soon. We'll meet Jake for lunch and then I have something special planned.
I love you, Jessie. With all my heart.
                                    Tay
I smiled to myself as I poured my cup of coffee. I did as Taylor asked and took the aspirin, even though my headache had subsided to a minor pain instead of the pounding sledgehammer that was there. I sipped my coffee and went into the bathroom to shower. I did that quickly and got myself dressed. It was a warm sunny day, so I put on a pair of jeans, my sport sandals and a blue tank. I ran a brush through my hair and put on a litlle lip gloss and mascara. I finished my coffe and poured another cup. I picked up the clothes that were strewn all over the bedroom floor and ripped the sheets from the bed and threw them in the wash. I put new sheets on the bed, then went to the living room and turned on the stereo. The Cd that had been playing last night was still in the player. I grinned, as the song I had danced to blared out of the speakers. I remembered the name of the song finally, LOVE SPREADS by THE STONE ROSES. I dang along with it as I straightened
up the kitchen. I had my back to the door and the radio on, so I didn't hear the key in the lock. I jumped and squealed as I felt a strong pair of arms slide around my waist. I turned in the arms to see Taylor smiling at me.
"Feeling better, I see.."
"God, Tay! You scared me.." I giggled.
"Ohhh, I'm sorry." he grinned and kissed my cheek. "Better turn that song off, Jess. I'll never listen to it the same way again.."
"Me either.." I laughed and kissed him, playing with his hair. We broke apart and he looked down at me and rested his forehead on mine. I laid my hand on his cheek and kissed him lightly on the lips.
"You ready, Jess? If we stay here like this, Jake will be eating lunch by himself.." he teased.
"Yeah...hey...did everything go alright this morning? I can't imagine what Jake would need you for... not that I mind..it's just that he's been awesome about dealing with things for me...what's up?" I asked.
Taylor just smiled and took my hand. Those two were up to something, I knew it.
"Everything is fine, Jess. Just some stuff he hasn't dealt with before that I have...that's all." He pulled me to the front door and opened it for me. I stepped out and watched as Taylor locked it behind us. As we headed down the stairs, he added, "He'll probably tell you what he's doing at lunch anyway.."
We got in my car and left to meet Jake.
TAYLOR:

I woke up to the sound of Jess, groaning in pain. She should have a headache, I thought to myself. She didn't eat as much as she usually does and she drank THREE of those deadly concoctions. I chuckled to myself, she was too cute, insisting she wasn't drunk. She was, but I was sure she knew exactly what she was doing when she decided to do that striptease for me. Wow! I couldn't resist the way she was looking at me and teasing me like that. She looked so damn sexy, she keeps herself in awsome shape, to the point of maybe doing too much.
And that bellybutton ring of hers..holy shit! And the thing that amazes me more is that she doesn't realize how hot she really is. While we were at the Intersection I saw more than one male checking her out, she didn't even notice. And I wanted to smash them all. I knew what I had to do and I ws going to do it today. Thank goodness I ran into Jake before I took Jess home, I don't know what I would have told her to get out of the apartment without her for a couple hours. Not that I didn't want to spend the time with her, there was never enough time to be with her, living as far apart as we did. Just that I needed to do a few things to make it perfect. I told Jake what I had planned last night and he agreed to call me and ask me to go with him on a few errands. He looked like he was going to have a stroke when I told him. But he was happy to help out. I kissed Jessie goodbye and got on with my plans.
I met Jake at a small diner about halfway between Jessie's place and his. He was already drinking coffe by the time I got there.
"Hey, Taylor. How's Jess? Feeling the effects?" he laughed.
"Yeah, but she's still insisting that she was NOT drunk.." I answered chuckling. "That woman is the most stubborn...I wish she'd stop trying to act so damn tough all the time..." I shook my head. "Never mind, Jake. Thanks for helping me out though." I told him, sliding into the booth seat across from him. The waitress came by and poured coffe and took our breakfast order.
"No problem, man. You're practically family, right?"
"Maybe." I said, "If she doesn't run..."
"Tay, she won't man. She's nuts about you. Drives me insane when you're not in town." He laughed. "You should have seen her face when I told her I was thinking of moving to Tulsa and I suggested she come with me. I wasn't totally covering when I told you I needed help with legal stuff, Tay."
"Oh? Why? What's up?" I asked him.
"You know how Jess reacts when the subject of my inheiritance comes up. She refuses to take her half from me." Jake shook his head.
"She's so fucking mule-headed...anyway, I need the nme of a good lawyer in Tulsa. I want to set up some kind of bank account for her, just in case something should happen to me. Or some kind of SOMETHING..so she has what she needs to compete. I can take care of a lot of it without her knowing, but if I'm not around.." he let his sentence hang, unfinished.
"I can give you a name, Jake. But if all goes well today, she really won't NEED it..." I told him. I had the money to back her if she needed it and we both knew it.
