Jamie looked from her Uncle Mongo to her dad. "WELL?" she asked in an exasperated tone. "Hanson? Musi..." Mongo stopped and stared at Taylor. "Damn boy. You got tall!" he exclaimed. "I get that a lot." Taylor grinned and winked at Jamie. Jamie shifted her body and Taylor had to look away. It would do for her father AND her uncle to catch him drooling either. "Yeah." Jamie said sarcastically, "and if you behave yourselves, I MIGHT intoroduce you to Zac...what is he? A couple inches taller than you, Tay?" she looked at Taylor. He shrugged his shoulders. "About.." he grinned at Jamie. "You and daddy behave yourselves and leave my date alone will you?" she demanded and gave her uncle a shove toward her father's door. Jade took the bag from Taylor's arm, peeked inside and grinned. "For tomorrow...after the show..." he said quietly. "Hah. Not if I finish off what I brought with me..I'm in a mood.." Jade giggled and it was then that Taylor realized that Jade was almost as far on her way to hammered as Mongo was. "Good GOD!" Tay exclaimed, in a low whisper, making Jade giggle again. "DATE?" Jamie's dad and uncle exclaimed at the same time in mock-horror, and Taylor had to chuckle, because in the dim light between the two residences he saw that Jamie was blushing. "Oh BE QUIET..." she exclaimed, exasperated. "You two old geezers better knock it off or no more gourmet breakfasts for you, do you hear me?" Both men laughed and Mongo finally shook Taylor's hand. "Nice ta meetcha kid. Good luck with the spitfire here.." he teased then ducked when Jamie gasped and took a swing at him. "Ya still can't take me girlie.." he teased her as he bounded up the step to his brother-in-law's house. "I know your brother taught you, but giess who taught HIM..hahaha..wasn't your old man, that's for sure.." he laughed, and both Taylor and jade laughed with him. "Don't burn the damn house down, please? I left stuff in the fridge for you to nuke if you get hungry. Or call that kid from Dominoe's..." she called out. "NAG!" her dad hollered out the door. "Hey Hanson... Jamie offered to cook if you came to dinner...don't let her weasel out of it.." he chuckled again when both he and Taylor caught her blushing. "Whatever you say sir." Taylor smiled and grabbed Jamie's hand, giving it a squeeze. Jamie's dad and Uncle exchanged a knowing look before they closed the door. "Good lord! They're already toasted.." Jamie exclaimed, then turned to Jade who was giggling uncontrollably. "And apparently so are you.." she said, rolled her eyes and hauled Jade inside, using that for an excuse to avoid Taylor's gaze for a few minutes. Jade's head spun as Jamie manhandled her into the apartment. "Jame..soooon...god..." she whined, as Jamie let her drop into the recliner that Zac had occupied almost a week ago. "You dork. You did it to yourself.." Jamie laughed and threw a blanket over the top of her. "Oh. I did. huh?" Jade looked up at her friend with a dimpled smile. Taylor KNEW that if Ike were here, he'd melt. Jade was very cute, and as completely adorable as her dimples, drunk. He couldn't help but laugh. "I spoke to Josh, Tay.." Jade slurred, and tried to focus on him. "Shit.." Jamie muttered, stuffed a pillow under Jade's head and handed her, her last beer. "Thanks Jame.." Jade said and swallowed half the beer in one large gulp. "Yeah? How's he feeling?" Tay asked, not letting on that he'd been there already. "Okay, I guess.." she said, "I hung up on him." "Did you?" Taylor looked at Jamie questioningly. Jamie nodded, and flopped down on the futon. "Why?" he asked Jade. "'Cause he was acting like an ass..and he was callin' my girl names.." she slurred and grabbed Jamie's hand. "You wouldn't do that? To Ike or Zac I mean...call their best friend names?" Jade asked. "I do. But it's because THEY ARE my best friends. But I wouldn't do that to my sisters..or to Jamie." he said. "You all right Jade?" Taylor asked. "Yeah...just fucking drunk and stupid..." she giggled. "Would Ike act like that?" she asked, knowing the answer, but wanting to hear Taylor say it. "Absolutely not." Taylor smiled and disentangled Jade's hand from Jamie's. "And none of us woud give Jame hard time if YOU broke up with Josh, either, Jade. He IS acting like a moron, and we like you guys, okay?" Taylor assured her and adjusted the pillow under her head. "Thanks.." Jade murmured, and closed her eyes. "Why don't you get some sleep, Jade?" Taylor suggested. "Think about it when you're sober and your brain works correctly." he teased. "Kay.." she slurred again and turned on her side as Jamie pulled the handle and put the foot rest up for her. "Jameson?" Jade opened her eyes long enough to look at Jamie. "Thanks babe. I love you, you HO." she giggled. "Love you too, nutcase. Go to sleep." Jamie grinned and smiled up at Tay, who was giving Jamie a startled look. "What?" Jamie giggled, as Jade's breathing became slow and even, in a pattern for sleep, immediately. Taylor cleared his throat. "Ho?" he raised his eyebrow and grinned. "It's a joke, anyone else would be swallowing their teeth." she laughed. "OH-KAY.." he chuckled. "Is she gonna be okay?" he asked. "Yeah...just help me move her to the futon when I have to leave for work. She'll have a doosy of a hangover in the morning though...probably won't make it to work either." Jamie answered. "What was it you wanted me to read?" she asked, making sure to avoid any conversation dealing with her dad and uncle at all. Taylor didn't notice though. He pulled out the piece he'd been writing and handed it to Jamie. Jamie read it quickly, then they launched into a huge discussion having to do with writing, and forgetting the time. |
