"I know.." Ike said and opened his eyes, finally. "I don't want to wreck anything either, Jade." He looked at her hand on his shoulder. Jade quickly removed it and went back to resting her chin on her knees. "So now what?" she asked quietly. Ike dropped his head back to the steering wheel and groaned. "Jade. Maybe..." he started and then stopped. "What? You can tell me.." she said encouragingly. "I like you, too. And I do want to be able to be in the same room with you and not make you uncomfortable.." he sighed. "I don't want you to feel weird around me either.." she answered. "Okay, then." he said suddenly. "We go in there and be exactly like we always have been. Pretend that this didn't just happen and move on, be friends." Ike said and wanted to throw up. He knew he would never be able to look at her as just a friend, he wanted her. But he didn't want to never see her again, either. Not possible. Jamie and Tay were pretty much joined at the hip. And he definately didn't want her to be self-conscious when he was around. "Okay.." Jade agreed, "Thats' what we'll do." She wanted to kick herself, jump in his arms and say 'to hell with josh', and she didn't know what else. She just felt as if dumping Josh (though she had a feeling he deserved to be) and heading straight for Ike was just morally wrong. But after knowing Ike, and the way she felt when e kissed her, she KNEW she was NOT in love with Josh, and probably never had been. "We better go in.." she told him finally. "Okay." he said and leaned toward her. "Thank you for spending the afternoon with me Jade. It was the most fun I've had in a long time too." he told her and kissed her cheek softly. "Don't thank me Issac. It was worth every minute." she said and hugged him, quickly. They pulled back from each other just as Ike caught a glimpse of his own vehicle coming down the street. "Let's go.." he said, gently and got out of the car, then ran to help Jade out of the car. She took his hand, stepped out of the car and smiled sadly up at him. He returned the same sad smile, closed her door and followed her up the walk, just as Zac slammed his car into park and sprinted up the driveway. |
"Jame?" Taylor stroked Jamie's hair back of her soundly sleeping face and kissed her lips softly. "Mmm..." she stirred and smiled in her sleep, making Taylor chuckle. He liked waking her up, all of her tough defenses were non-existent when she was half awake, and she became very sweet, almost childlike. "Baby...time to wake up..." he whispered in her ear. "I don't wanna.." she murmured and snuggled closer. "You don't WANT to play tonight?" he whispered directly in her ear. Her hand slid up his chest, slowly, then snaked around his neck. "Yeah...I wanna PLAY..." she sighed and traced his jawline with her fingertips, keeping her eyes closed. "Jame....wake up baby...." he chuckled, grasping her hand tightly in his and kissing the back of it. "Sleepy...don't wanna get up yet.." she sighed softly. "wanna stay right here, Tay." He smiled brightly even though he knew she was nowhere close to awake, her eyes remained closed as her hands wandered over his bare skin. 'Well...at least she dreams about me, too..' he thought to himself as he played with the feathery ends of her hair that tickled her cheeks. "I wanna stay right here too.." he said softly and laid his cheek on his pillow, and pulled her closer. He lay like that for a long time, knowing Jamie operated on way too little sleep, too much beer and not enough food. He listened to her slow even breathing pattern and her small contented sighs as he continued to caress her softly and rub the silky ends of her hair between his fingers, until he heard his own car pull up outside the garage. "Shit.." he muttered, wanting nothing more than to watch her sleep, all her defense mechanisms out of the way. It was the only way she opened completely up to him, aside from being washed away in the throes of passion. "Jamie...baby...we HAVE to get up now.." he said and shook her gently. "Tay..please.." she moaned in protest and clung to him. "Aww baby...I know...but I already let you sleep too long and Ike and Jade are back..we need to get dressed..." he chuckled. "Jadeleigh's back?" she asked, suddenly coherent. Her eyes flew open and she graced Taylor with a sweet smile, making his heart leap. "Uh-huh..unless you WANT to parade that sexy naked body of yours in front of Ike.." he looked up for a moment, listening hard, "AND ZAC..." he continued, we NEED to get up, NOW." he smiled down at her and raked his hand through her hair. "Damn...is it that late?" she asked, sitting up her bare breasts exposed immediately as the blanket fell from her body. "I tried to wake you up earlier.." he grinned sheepishly, as she caught him gaping at her braless chest. She raised her eyebrow and chuckled when he reached out and caressed them. "You're too sexy, Jame...I wasn't kidding when I told you I could make love to you all day.." he grazed his fingertips lightly over her erect nipples. He was so intent on taking in the sight of her beautiful, bare body he didn't see the look of panic cross her face. "Hmm...that feels good Tay.." she sighed, shoving the panic down deep, to mull over later. "But you're right...we need to get dressed..those fools don't have the kind of money I'd charge to let them watch.." she laughed. Taylor stared at her in shock as she disentangled herself from him and headed for the closet. Taylor shook his head and reached for his hastily discarded clothing. "They're taking forever to get in here, Jame. I need a shower..." he said. "Go start it, Tay...I'll be right there..want coffee?" she asked, almost panicking again at the level of comfort she felt in sharing her place with him. "If you're having a cup.." he said on his way into the bathroom. "Kay.." she answered, put the coffee on, and grabbed her clothing. She followed him into the bathroom, shoving another pang of fear deep down. Taylor and Jamie managed a shower together in record time, and Taylor was dressed and pouring cups of coffee, just as the rest of the group came filing into Jamie's place. |
