"Well guys..here we are...do you think your dad will really let you keep your heads?" Jade giggled as she parked the car. Both Taylor and Zac groaned, knowing they were in deep puckey for not calling home, even though both Josh and Ike knew where they were. "Just barely 'cause we need 'em to sing." Zac muttered. "Come in at your own risk Jade." Zac gave Jade one of his famous wicked grins. "Hey. How come Jaime calls you Jadeleigh?" he asked. "She just runs my first and middle names together is all...she's funny about nicknames." Jade smiled, wondering what names she assign to Taylor, Zac and Ike. "I'd better come in though, or Josh might get his feelings hurt." she said and shut off the motor. "My. You're brave." Zac teased as they all headed into the house. The scene with Walker Hanson did not go as badly as Tay and Zac had led Jade to believe. Jade decided she liked Mr. and Mrs. Hanson after only a few minutes. "You have to excuse Jaime though,"
Jade continued after her third apology for not making sure someone had called, "she has to work tonight or she'd be here to introduce herself. I'm fairly sure she's out cold by now." she smiled at Walker. "I imagine we'll be meeting her soon enough." Walker smiled back, thinking of how excitedly Tay and Zac had described Jaime's place, what a great musician she was, and how great SHE was in general. Walker looked questioningly at Jade, who only grinned and shrugged. "All true. But I'm biased, she my very best friend in the world." she said. "Well put, miss." Walker grinned. "Thank you for bringing them home, and it was nice to meet you." Walker extended his hand and shook Jade's, as did Diana. "It was nice metting you too, and not a problem. But I think I'll be on my way now, so you can really give them the hiney-chewing they deserve." she chuckled and stared down both Taylor and Zac. "Don't worry. I get to rip-shred Jame. Doesn't happen often." she said and headed for the door, Ike and Josh close on her heels.  "Thanks alot, Jade." Ike began when the three reached Jade's car. "It really wasn't a problem. You're welcome. Tell Tay and Zac they OWE me." she giggled. Ike smiled and Jade's face flushed slightly. "I really need to check on Jaime, guys.." she said softly. "I thought you said she'd be ASLEEP." Josh commented, clearly annoyed. "Maybe. But I haven't seen much of her lately Josh, and you're spending the weekend with your family. I'm not going anywhere. Call me later, Jaime will be at work, and you can spend some guy time with Ike..and maybe Tay and Zac if Walker doesn't kill them." she smiled, wishing silently that Josh would at LEAST be civil where Jaime was concerned. Boyfriends come and go, but she'd be hard pressed to find a friend as good as Jaime. Jaime would step in where Jade could not. Jaime was her confidence, her support. Hell Jaime was her whole freakin' pep-rally. There was so much she never would have experienced if it hadn't been for her, and there was no WAY she was dumping Jaime because she and Josh didn't get along. As Ike and Josh stood there just making small talk with her, she got the feeling that Ike would open up and accept Jaime for the person she was, no matter what. She found herself listening intently to hm as he talked, loving the way his eyes twinkled when he was excited about something and his sense of humor was so great. he had Josh and her both in stitches by the time she held her hand up and begged him to stop. "Oh please Ike. I really have to go and my tummy is going to be sore from laughing so hard." she said quickly, wiping her eyes. "Kay. Say hi to Jaime for me, okay?" he asked. "I will." she smiled and felt a little sad as he turned his back and started to go into the house.

Jade could have sworn she saw Ike look back at her, just as Josh planted the obligatory kiss on her lips. "Call  me as soon as SHE goes to work or is sleeping, okay?" he asked. "HER NAME is Jaime. Josh please.." she sighed heavily. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I know she's your best friend, but I am still at a loss as to how that happened. You two are NOTHING alike." he stated, sarcastically. "JOSH!" Jade snapped, and shoved her key angrily into the lock on the door. "Jade...okay..I'm sorry.." he pulled her around to look at him. "I really am. I promise. I'll be civil." he said and tilted her chin up. "Fine. She wanted to talk. She needs me now. I will call you later." Jade said sharply, still upset. "Jade." Josh practically begged, "Come on don't be like that." He pulled her by the waist, close to him, and she could feel his growing erection pressing against her belly. She rolled her eyes. "You need another shower. A cold one. And when you stop taking every opportunity to bash the one and only person who ever stood by me, no matter what, I will stop getting angry. You're nicer to Angel, and SHE doesn't even back me up like Jaime does." she snapped. "Goodbye Josh. I'll call you when I'm calm." she said and slipped into the car, shutting the door before he could say anything else. Josh stood staring after her, wondering why in the world Jade would be so staunch over a person like Jaime. As far as he could tell she was a self-centered, wanna-be-a-rock-star, bitch. And as for letting Angel sing lead, well why did she give her a shot, when she was just going to treat her like shit? He felt a stab of guilt when he finished that thought, but shrugged it off and tried to think of something, ANYTHING to get rid of the bulge at his crotch before his cousins or Uncle Walker noticed and gave him hell for it.
Issac watched the whole exchange between Josh and Jade, and felt like a heel for not minding his own buisness. He quickly slipped into the house before Josh started back up to the house, but not before he notice the golden fire flashing up  in Jade's green eyes. Even HE knew better than to trash a girl's best friend in front of her, and he'd always considered himself awkward in the dating department. he almost felt sorry for Josh, but he felt sorrier for Jade, who obviously depended a great deal on her friend. He also had no clue why Josh could dislike Jaime so much. He liked her, she was cool. And Taylor and Zac were both obviously crushing hard, taking every chance they could get to one-up the other on nice comments concerning her. His thoughts turned back to Jade when Josh finally came inside. "Dude. If she's 'THE ONE', like you keep telling me.." Ike began, grinning to take the sting out of his words. "DO NOT trash her best friend to her face.
Girls hate that.." he said. Josh sighed heavily. "You just haven't seen all of Jaime's many personalities. That girl is psycho. Good luck to Tay and Zac is all I can say." he retorted sarcastically. "Come to the bar next weekend and find out. What sane woman would name her band POWER BOX anyway.?" Ike laughed out loud. "Suits Jaime for sure.." he said. "I think it's cool." Josh rolled his eyes. "Man, when was the last time you had your head checked? I think you need it. And your dorky brothers. I think Uncle Walk and I need to have  little chat.." he grinned. "Whatever. If you don't want her pissed at you lay off Jaime, whether you like the girl or not. Besides, the way Tay and Zac are acting I think she'll be around a lot more." Ike said, chuckling. "OH GOD.." Josh groaned, "We MUST pray that they don't get sucked in by Satan's daughter...we HAVE to.." he over-dramatized. "NOW who needs their head checked?" Ike replied, shaking his head.
