" I'm sorry, Jame." Taylor said quickly. "We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." He gentlt tugged her over to the futon and pulled her by the hand to sit with him there. "It's okay," she said, tucking her hair back behind her ears. Talylor thought she looked completely sweet and sexy at the same time. She wasn't wearing much make-up and she had on a pair of faded jeans and a gold, long-sleeved, t-shirt that was cropped at the waist and showed her midriff off nicely. He pulled himself from that line of thinking and listened to what she was saying.
"He and I were close, even if he was that much older than me. He taught me to play." she said.
"Play what? Drums?" Taylor asked, sincerely interested. Jaime chuckled. "AND the piano, AND the guitar, AND how to read music..he was awesome." she smiled. It was Tay's turn to chuckle. "Did he have a name?" he raised his eyebrow. "Jimmy, if you must know.." she rolled her eyes, dreading the re-telling of how they got their names. "James and Jaime? Was your mother confused or something?" Taylor laughed, "Ten years apart..definately NOT twins." he observed. "Thanks Einstien." she said, sarcastically. "But yeah..I think she was. She always said she would have liked for us to be closer in age, but it didn't matter to Jimmy and me. We just were always close. He loved to play and write and he was AWESOME, I guess it just rubbed off on me, though I could never be as good. I keep trying though." she grinned. "He'd HAVE to be impressed with that song you wrote for him, Jame." he squeezed her hand again. "Thanks." Jaime smiled at Taylor and squeezed back. "Hey! Did you eat lunch already? I'm dying..I forgot to eat..sat down to play.." she grinned and shrugged, knowing he'd understand. "I can always eat. Wanna go out?" he asked, "Or is it cold pizza again?"  "Smart ass. We ate all the pizza the other night. Not even a bone in this cupboard. It's go out or starve. But we can take the bike.." she grinned mischeviously. "Sweet." he grinned back, then sucked in his breath and willed his swelling erection to die down as he watched her bend over and pull her boots on, flipping her hair to one side as she wound the laces through the eyelets then tied them tightly. She strode to the closet and pulled on a short leather jacket, then pulled down two helmets. "Jimmy's should fit you.." she remarked as she handed it to him. He looked questioningly at her and she shook her head, knowing what he was thinking. "It was a CAR accident, Tay. My mom was with him." she said and grabbed her keys, stuffing them in her pocket along with her wallet. Taylor nodded in understanding and followed her outside. He found himself smiling again as she jumped and started the motorcycle in one downward stroke of her leg. She tucked her hair back and pulled on her helmet, then patted the seat behind her. He climbed on, pulled his helmet on and put his hands on her waist, her bare flesh making them burn with the desire to slide them over her stomach and up inside her t-shirt, though he managed to restrain himself. Jaime's heart pounded a mile a minute when Taylor's large warm hands made contact with her bare skin and she desperately wanted to feel them slipping over her skin, the way they had slipped over her back when he'd kissed her the other night. She closed her eyes for a second, remembering how she'd wanted to melt as his hand cupped the back of her head and his fingers dug into her hair while they kissed. She took a deep breath, told Taylor to hang on and took off quickly, speeding toward the outside of town, to the restaurant Jimmy used to bring her to when he picked her up from school.
Jade paced the floor of her apartment, getting angrier by the second. Josh was late and she'd turned down extra hours at her office, overtime, that she really could have used right now. Data entry and the mountains of filing that needed to be done in the Doctor's office was extrememly boring, but it would have been better than sitting here getting pissed. She wanted to call Jaime, but she knew that Jaime was out with Taylor. There was no way in the world she was interrupting THAT. She paced a little longer and then changed her clothes, deciding firmly that Jaime would insist she give Josh the cold shoulder and make him squirm, before accepting any apologies, and that was exactly what she was going to do. This was the third time in two weeks, she did not deserve to be treated this way and was NOT going to stand for it. "Okay Jade. This is getting you nowhere. call Angel and see if she wants to come over and watch a movie or something." she said to herself and picked up the phone. She let it ring so long she lost count, then after what seemed to be an eternity, Angel finally answered. "Hello?" she sounded like she was already in bed. "Why are you in bed already Angel? You sick or something?" she asked. "Umm...yeah...kinda...feelin' like I'm getting a ..cold...a cold.. and I have to sing again saturday night...so I went to bed.." she stammered in a rush. "What's up, Jade?" she asked and the man in bed next to her sat straight up, eyes wide in shock and fear. "Nothing. Just wonering if you wanted to come over, watch tear-jerkers and eat popcorn until we explode." she grinned. "I would but...you know...my stomach and all.." Angel replied quickly and her partner rolled his eyes. "I thought you said you felt like you were getting a cold? You stomach too?" Jade asked. "Both." Angel replied again, a little too quickly. "A fever too, I think.." she grinned at her partner seductively, while he looked pale as a ghost. "I really NEED to go back to bed Jade.." she said. "Kay. Want me to bring you some of mom's soup, later?" Jade asked, concerned. "NO." Angel almost shouted. "No. I don't want you to come down with it.." she said hurriedly. "Are you sure?" Jade chuckled. "I'll wear one of those masks from the Doctor's office." "It's really okay, Jadey. I just need to go back to bed and sleep. I'll be fine tomorrow I'm sure.' she said a little too cheerily. "Okay, Angelina. Get some sleep and I'll call to check on you tomorrow." "Kay. Bye, Jadey." she said and hung up before Jade could say goodbye. Jade looked at the reciever for a minute and set it down. "She must be delirious." Jade shook her head and went to the kitchen, popped some popcorn and put a movie that Jaime had lent her a few days ago in the VCR. She grabbed a pillow and a blanket, and settled herself on the couch, knowing Jaime would call her before she went to bed.
Jade must have only been sitting there for a few minutes when her phone rang. "HELLO?" she answered it angrily. "Um..hi..Jade? Is that you? It's Ike." said the calm, deep voice through the line. "Oh. Hi. Sorry Isaac. I thought you were...someone else." she said. "What can I do for you?" she asked, a little more cheerfully. She was truly glad to hear from him, even if it was just because he was looking for his brothers.
There was a long pause and Jade decided to break it. "If you're looking for Tay...Jaime doesn't have to be to work until..." she started. "No. Not Tay. I was actually looking for Josh...he said he'd be at your place but judging from the way you answered the phone...well... I didn't wanna bring it up." he sighed. "Well," she began, trying to soothe HIM oddly enough, "you're right. He's not here, but he was supposed to be. Over an hour and a half ago, now. And yes I am angry. But I won't take it out on you." she said with a smile. "Want me to give him a message..it may not get to him until NEXT WEEK, but hey.." she asked.
"No." Ike laughed. "I have a better idea though. Zac and I were going to go to the movies, we thought you and Josh might want to come. Josh is obviously MIA..so..would you like to join us? We could pick you up?" Ike asked, regretting the offer as soon as it was out of his mouth. Josh would have a stroke, but then again, Josh wasn't treating Jade very well right now either. Jade thought to say no for about a split second. "You know what Ike? I think I would. Thank you. But I will meet you guys there, okay? It's late and I have to change quick.." she said. "Great." Ike felt himself grinning like a fool and tried to control it before Zac came back in. He told her which movie and what theater and promised to wait for her before they went inside. Jade promised to hurry, thanked him again and hung up the phone, hearing Jaime's chuckle in the back of her mind. 'Shut up, Jame' she grinned to herself. Josh would get NO sympathy from Jade tonight. Where the
hell was he anyway? He usually would have called by now. She grabbed her purse, her keys and gave her hair a quick shake and ruffle before she flew out the door. She got in her car and started it, then pulled out of the parking lot just as Josh pulled in. "Where the fuck is SHE going?" he grumbled, and then insatntly pushed down the pang of guilt that washed over him. He WAS two hours late this time. He had a lot of groveling to do.
