As they made their way through the crowd and got back on the bus, Zac was right on Taylor's heels. He stayed close to his brother as they signed autographs and waved to the waiting crowd of screaming fans. They hung out the bus window and waved as it pulled away then, Zac grabbed Taylor's arm and shoved him straight toward the back lounge, since everyone else was still up front. "Zac! What the fuck?" Tay muttered as Zac continued to push him down the hall and then shoved him onto the low couch. "What the fuck is wrong with your head? Did you think I was kidding this morning dumbass? She will screw you and then SCREW you Tay, and you KNOW IT.." Zac growled at his brother, so his father wouldn't overhear. All they needed was for DAD to find out she was hanging around. "What the hell are you TALKING about?" Tay asked angrily. "You were standing there...I told her to go home. Get outta my face." "Yeah. Go home. That was it. Like she'll DO that, the selfish bitch. YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY BE THIS STUPID, TAY!" Zac snapped. "Or do you WANT to spend another year bawling your eyes out over a selfish, bitchy and MARRIED TO SOMEONE ELSE, woman? I'm seriously thinking about making her that offer again, just to see if it's worth it to let what she does to you in bed make you screw the rest of your life to hell. DAMMIT TAY!! If I catch you even LOOKING in her direction I am gonna beat the living shit out of you. You fucking moron.." Zac stalked back down the hall and hopped roughly into his bunk, then yanked the curtain shut. "I swear to GOD he's thinking with is dick.." he muttered and flipped on the TV, looking for something that would take his mind off kicking he shit out of Taylor anyway. Taylor ran a hand through his hair and sighed. He'd consider going back there and beating the hell out of Zac, but he was probably right. At least 90 percent, if not totally. He sat and tried to watch TV, but his mind kept going back to her. To the way her face looked as he walked away from her. He could SWEAR, she looked like she was going to cry, but then again, he didn't hear EVERYTHING Zac had said to her, and he KNEW Zac would be brutal. He flipped through the channels until Ike yelled at him to knock it off and just turn it off, his eyes were going crossed. "Sorry man.." he muttered and went down the hall, crawled into his bunk and pulled the heavy curtain shut. Calley walked slowly out of the venue and headed for her car, fighting har to keep the lump in her throat from choking her and to keep the tears that stung her eyes from falling. She didn't know whether to be heartbroken that Taylor wasn't even willing to LISTEN to what she had to say, or be royally pissed off at Zac, the arrogant little shit. "All talk, anyway.." she satisfied hereself with the thought that he was probably still a virgin and had no idea what he was doing. Taylor, on the other hand...she shook her head hard. 'Don't even go there Calley..' she told herself. 'You can't handle another sleepless night, especially with that fucking charity function you're supposed to attend...get over it.' she sighed and started her car, automatically moving in the direction of the very large, very empty, very lonely house she shared with the man who was SUPPOSED to be her husband. |
"What are you doing home already?" Calley asked as she kicked off her shoes and dropped her purse on the large overstuffed chair in her bedroom. "What's the problem, Cal? I thought you'd be glad I was home early for a change.." the handsome, salt and pepper haired man said, patting the spot on the bed next to him. "I didn't say I wasn't, Adam. I just wasn't expecting you until tomorrow morning, I'd have been here when you got home." she told him. "Where were you anyway?" he asked. "Concert..it was good..I'm tired now though." she told him. "Who'd you see this time?" he asked. "Hanson..." she said and started to undress. "What is this? 20 Questions?" she asked, annoyed. "You never cared before which concerts I attended, or if I attended any at all." "I figured that's who you saw. Got a surprise for you.." he told her, studying her carefully for her reaction, lately he'd been missing her and thought what he was about to tell her would soften her toward him a little. "Do tell, Mr. Price.." she grinned, wondering what the hell he bought this time. "They're playing the charity function we are to attend tomorrow night." he told her. "You'll get to meet them. See them play from up front, that's where we're seated." Calley could only stare at him in shock, her stomach in a thousand knots. Taylor and Adam, in the same room, with her? She felt like she was going to be ill. "'Scuse me.." she murmured and went into the bathroom. She splashed cold water on her face and swallowed hard. What would she do about Zac? He was being so brutally mean. There was no possible way she could get out of going, either. "Damn.." she muttered, looking into the mirror and suddenly hating what she saw. "Cal?" Adam called from the bedroom, "Are you alright?" he asked. "Fine.." she answered and wiped her face with the small, navy blue hand towel that hung from the little stand on the gray marble countertop. She emerged from the bathroom and forced a little smile in Adam's direction. "That's great, Adam." she managed, silently praying for some dire illness to strike her long enough to get out of being at this event. She climbed into bed, pulled the blankets up to her chin and turned on her side, away from her husband. She held her breath when she felt his hands slide around her waist. "Adam...I'm exhausted.." she said sleepily, hoping he'd get the hint. "It's been so long, Cal...I missed you.." he said softly and scooted closer. "Adam...please...not.." he silenced her by turning her to face him, and kissing her. She took a deep breath when his lips left hers and closed her eyes, detaching her mind from what was happening to her body. "Night Cal...we'll have a good time tomorrow night, I promise. It'll be fun for you, like before.." he said and kissed the back of her head. Her head reeled and she felt her heart pounding out of her chest. Why now? Why now, is he trying to make it better? she thought to herself. A tear slipped down her cheek as she closed her eyes. Her last thought before drifting off was of Taylor, and how she wished he'd have listened to her when she went to him tonight, and how she wished it was him sleeping soundly next to her. |
