Taylor sighed heavily. "Go back to him, Calley. I'm not doing this again. HE wants you...just go." He turned and started to stalk away again, but she grabbed his wrist, her eyes filled with tears. "Tay..I..." she quickly wiped her cheeks when he turned and scowled at her, looking pointedly at her hand on his wrist. "I didn't lie to you about that. I SWEAR. It's so weird, he just came home out of the blue and acted like there's never been anything wrong. I don't love him anymore Tay. I haven't for a long time, since before I met you.." she sniffled. "THEN WHY ARE YOU STILL THERE?" he roared. "You don't have any kids by him, there's nothing to hold you there unless you are LYING to me Calley. You're lying to me again.." he said angrily and took another few steps away. "Tay no...not about that..." she wiped her cheeks again. "What do I have to do?' she sobbed and turned away fom him. "I TOLD YOU!!" he roared, all the anger he'd shoved down for the last year spilling out as like water from a broken dam. "And you didn't do it. And a YEAR...a fucking YEAR later you are STILL THERE." he raged. "I don't believe you, Calley. Go HOME." He clenched his jaw when she touched his hand. He wanted to believe everything she was saying. He wanted to grab her, kiss her, take her back to his room with him and make love to her all night, but he KNEW if he did that, they'd be back to the same old bullshit. "Tay...I'm sorry." she said softly, pulled his hand until he was standing close to her, and tiptoed up to kiss him goodbye. Both felt the electricity as her lips met his and before he knew it they were kissing passionately there in he middle of the sidewalk. His hands were in her hair, hers were sliding over his back. Suddenly he pushed her away. "NO! No no no.." he shook his head. "I'M NOT gonna do this.." he said. "GO Calley. Go home...just GO." he grabbed her shoulders and shook her slightly. "Do you HEAR me? I'm not. You are still MARRIED to HIM. I'm not going back. I won't. Goodbye Calley." he said and quickly walked away, slamming into his rented car and speeding away, forcing himslef not to look back, or even in the rearview mirror. If he had he would have seen her standing there, tears streaming down her face, chest heaving with her sobs. Instead he silently swore at himself all the way back to the hotel. "Well?" Zac asked expectantly as Taylor slammed through the door to their suite. "Well, what?" Taylor snapped back. "I TOLD you. I told you not to go, Tay." Zac admonished. "She fucked you up already, but at least you managed to keep it in your pants, or you wouldn't be so pissed. What did she say?" Zac asked more gently, feeling genuinely bad for his brother. "Same ol....she doesn't love him, he's SUDDENLY acting like there's never been anything wrong...she asked me what she HAD to do.." he let it spill out, feeling like he was going to explode if he didn't vent to SOMEONE. "I expressly remember telling her a YEAR ago what she had to do." he sighed. "I told her to go home, that HE wanted her, then I left. So don't start, Zac. I already cussed my own ass out for bothering to go all the way back here. Alright?" Taylor said, his expression pleading with him to go easy and that he was having a hard enough time already. "It's cool, man. But you'd be in better shape if you;d have stayed here and let me kick your ass on the playstation. Or gone out with Ike and his date of the week, I'm sure she could have found a 'friend' who be willing to take your mind off your umm...troubles.." Zac grinned mischeviously. "Zac! How in the hell did you grow up to be such a whore?" Taylor teased. "I can't help it if all the girlies know a hot stud when they see one." he chuckled. "A great big slut.." Taylor shook his head. "Wanna watch a movie? I'm not even close to tired." he asked his brother, hoping Zac would keep him company and his mind off Calley. "Depends on what channel you wanna watch." Zac grinned and flipped to the adult pay-per-view station. "Gimmie a break you horny little pervert." Taylor laughed and grabbed the remote, punching up an action flick that would keep them both occupied for a while. |
Calley slowly walked back to her car and got in, swiping the tears from her cheeks with the back of her hand, and trying to pull herself together. She sat in the driver's seat and took a few deep breaths, then rested her forhead on the steering wheel and cried some more. When she finally felt she had it together enough to leave the now close to empty parking lot she started her car and pulled away. As she drove, she thought long and hard about what she was going to do. Taylor did still want her, she was sure, or he would not have kissed her like that. But she couldn't expect him to go on like they always had. He was right, it was unfair of her to do that to both him, and Adam, no matter what kind of an asshole Adam acted like most of the time. 'Oh god...' she moaned under her breath. 'I'm becoming a selfish jerk, just like him. Like Adam..' She looked up suddenly and realized she had driven herself home, without really paying attention. She pulled her car into the garage, checked her apperanace in her rearview mirror to make sure her face wasn't too puffy and groaned. She looked like she'd been crying for a week and Adam was home. She sighed heavily and went inside, determined to zone out in front of the TV until he fell asleep. "Hello, Calley." Adam said as soon as she walked through the door. "Hi." she mumbled and kicked off her shoes, then set her bag down on the kitchen table. "You've been crying, Cal. Why?" he asked. "I saw a movie with a friend. Tear-jerker. Her choice, I don't remember the name." she said quickly. "If I had known you were going to be home tonight I would have satyed in. Sorry." she mumbled. "That's alright, Cal. We just wrapped up the deal sooner than I expected." he told her and took her hand. She looked up at him, totally confused and annoyed. 'WHY NOW?' she asked herself and almost asked him aloud. "It's not THAT late. Would you like me to order a late supper delivered?" he asked and she could only stare. "If you're hungry I can fix something Adam." she finally said, "But I'm not hungry. Don't go to all the trouble." She resolved to fix him something to eat and then outlast him in front of the TV, or read until he couldn't stay awake anymore. "Just something light, Calley, please. I'm going to go change. Thank you." he smiled warmly at her and kissed her cheek. "I won't be long." he said and headed in the direction of their room. 'Yippeeskippee' she thought sarcastically and set about making him a light supper and poured herself a generous glass of wine. |
