Description
DESIGN: The Morgan Out-Island 30 is sloop rig, full keel, skeg rudder and keel stepped mast. She has a Yanmar 20 hp Diesel engine. Her interior offers port and starboard settees with convertible starboard dining table, L-shaped galley aft to port, head with shower forward with hanging locker and V-berth. Aft to starboard is a quarterberth.
HULL: The hull is solid fiberglass hand lay-up laminate, substantially reinforced in way of keel and all chainplates. The internally cast lead ballast is securely fiberglassed into the molded keel. Rubrails are heavy neoprene extrusions with aluminum end castings.
ENGINE: Most Morgan Out-Islands were equipped with gas engines. But, "Slo and Ezy" has a 20 horse power Yanmar Diesel engine.
Owner Comments
The 3'4" draft allows exploring shallow areas, not possible in deeper draft boats.

The keel is heavily constructed and very wide. This allows you to ground the boat for cleaning the bottom or to "beach" the boat for easy access to land without damaging the keel.

The solar panels and battery bank allow comfortable living without relying on the engine or shore power for electricity. This includes using power tools!

I have not listed all the tools on board. There are many crafts, hobby, and other tools that are great for an artist, craftsman, or hobbyist.

The boat is very open and roomy inside (for its size) . . . this makes it a great boat for entertaining and parties.

I have lived aboard for 8 years. The boat has been my hobby and mproving it has been my main source of entertainment.
