One Final Breath … It was yesterday, the sun slept in clouds; While all during the day the drops would enshroud, New leaves on the trees, as well as Spring blooms, Which had sprung to life after Winter’s gloom. A warming breeze tugged at the wind chime’s feet, While the rains poured down, with a steady beat; And all through the night, the thunder would sound, Shaking the windows, while rumbling around. Of course we’ve all heard, April showers will bring, New meaning and life, to most everything. But as I awoke to this brand new day, And sauntered outside I was filled with dismay; Those warm winds of Spring, were put back to rest, When Winter returned with one final breath ... Joy A.
