Use G Hook. Ch 42
Row 1(right side):
DC in 3rd ch from hook (2 skipped chs count as a dc) and in each rem ch. Ch 2 (counts as first dc on following rows), turn.

Row 2:
Dc in each dc to beg 2 skipped chs; dc in 2nd ch of beg 2 skipped chs. Ch2, turn.

Row 3:
* Dc in next 3 dc, twist (see Pattern Stitch) around post of next dc on 2nd row below; rep from * to last 4 sts; dc in last 3 dc and in 2nd ch of turning ch-2. Ch2, turn.

Row 4:
Dc in each dc and in each twist to turning ch-2; dc in 2nd ch of turning ch-2. Ch2, turn.

Row 5:
Dc in next dc, twist; *dc in next 3 dc, twist; rep from * to last 2 sts; dc inlast dc and in 2nd ch of turning ch-2. Ch 2, turn.

Row 6:  
Rep Row 4.

Rep Rows 3 through 6 for desired length, ending with Row 3. At end of last row, do not ch 2; do not turn.

Finish off.
PATTERN STITCH
Twist:
YO, insert hook from front to back to front around post of st indicated on 2nd row below, draw up lp to height of working row, YO, insert hook from front to back to front around post of same dc, draw up lp to height of working row, YO, draw through 4 lps on hook; YO and draw through 2 lps on hook -- twist made.

Note: Sk st behind twist on working row. Make sure you bring up lp to where it would be if you were making a regular stitch. Otherwise, your piece will sink at each twist.
