| Want to Join the Vintage Stock Car Racing Association? Here are the rules for building a car....meet these specs and show up to race....Join at the track. Rules are subject to change according to the officers of VSCRA... 1. Bodies a. Must be 1948 or older coupe or sedan steel body b. NO firerglass bodies allowed c. All cars must have hood that covers all hoses d. Fenders on cars are optional e. No wings or spoilers are allowed f. Full front and rear firewalls are required 2. Engines a. Engine does not have to correspond with the make of the body b. Displacement is open c. Carburation- Must run a carburator d. No fuel injection allowed e. No turbos, blowers, or superchargers allowed f. Must run gasoline...NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED 3. Chasis a. Minimum of 100 inch wheelbase required b. Stock, any year or make OEM frame componentsmust me used back to center over rear assembly. From there you may use box tubing c. Sub-Frames may be used with the original type frame section to bring the frame back far enough to where it angles upward d. any type spindles may be used e. Stock type front brake calibers must be used if using disc brakes on front f. No Coil-Over springs allowed g. No tubular A-Frames allowed h. Aftermarket Rack and Pinions ARE ALLOWED 4. Transmissions a. Must have full workable transmission with REVERSE b. No "in and out" boxes allowed c. Automatic transmissions ARE ALLOWED 5. Rear Ends a. Any type rear end permitted b. Quick Change rear ends are permitted c. Truck type rear ends are permitted d. Any type brake system is allowed on the rear end 6. Safety a. All cars must have a full roll cage b. Seat belts and shoulder harnesses are required c. Each car must have a fire extinguisher d. Must have fully enclosed fuel cell e. Must have steel windshield bars (3 minimum)and full screen or lexan f. Must have full front and rear firewall g. If batteries are in drivers compartment, they must be in a marine type box h. no fuel, transmission, or water lines are allowed in the drivers compartment I. Drivers must wear racing suit, helmet and gloves 7. Wheels a. Maximun wheel width is twelve (12) inches b. Steel or aluminum wheels are allowed 8. Tires a. Any type tire is permitted 9. Points a.
