Ken INGLIS

I bought my 1949 Chev sedan back in early 1995; from a young chap from Wandin it was about 40% restored but complete with all parts, and drivable. I spent most of my spare time working on it with the occasional help from my son in-law and my brother Rob.

Chrome work was a bit rough and was sent away, to be re- chromed and was fitted back on the car including all glass, window and door locks and their mechanisms. It took me about three and a half months to get it on the road for its first run which was down to St Leonard's for our week end away which back then was in May. The family and I have travelled some miles in the Chev since then, including driving to Adelaide and back for the Bay to Birdwood.

The 1959 225 FC Holden I bought about 5yrs ago as is, but had a lot of trouble with brakes, the wheel cylinders kept seizing up until eventually I had to replace them with stainless steel inserts, and since this has been done I have not had any problems.

As this is on original plates and is fully registered it gets the occasional trip to work and a few car club runs, as well as runs to the shop etc.
