I've just recently realised what these rich kids are like. They talk anarchy and spout off about government oppression, then they go home to their upper-middle-class homes where they get fed and live for free. What is up with this? I respect their decision to be aware of the world around them. But how can someone who's had such an easy life even begin to understand what it means to be a oppressed person. I just don't get it. Any explanations? Don't say they're posers..that doesn't say anything.

Well, regarding middle and upper-middle class kids, I think Dexter Holland said it best, "The suburbs kill you in a different way." Just because you have the physical necessities, doesn't mean you have the mental/emotional ones. Just my take on it.

It doesn't matter what class you are, you cant claim to know what its like on the streets and any of that but you can understand the message punk puts across and be part of it, whatever class you are.

yeah. I'm middle class. I'm not an anarchist though. BUt yeah, I've seen the 'burbs chew through people's souls just the same as a heroin addiction. Only this way there's hope of ressurection. (One can be made aware)

I don't pretend I'm not from the suburbs, and I don't pretend I know what life on the streets is like. But I know that it'll be alot easier on the poor of the world if the middle class gives them a hand up. And I DO care about helping the oppressed of the world, even though I myself have not been oppressed. IT's this thing called human compassion, I think that's at the root.

well i live in an uppermiddle class home and yes ive had an easy as fuck life.
i still think the government needs to make changes but ive never said that they oppress me

Anarchy like all systems have their good points though. Anarchists are drawn to it for a reason. It's too bad that people ignore the negative effects their obsessions would have on the world.
But most of the middle class anarchist kids don't know jack about politics and government systems. Not saying I do though. A lot of them are in it to be cool and it's just bullshit.

anyone see the movie SLC punk? with the part where theres this "poseur" in the mall and the guy was "punk might be more popular than it was 3 years ago, but there are alot more poseurs too" and it does a close up on this guy goin "anarchy in the UK" and then the guy goes "WHAT THE FUCK THIS IS FUCKING UTAH!" SLC punk is the best movie ever.
